Today, 31 August 2026, Minority Youth Development Organization (MYDO) participated in the Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA) Working Group Meeting held at SoDMA Headquarters in Mogadishu. The meeting provided an important platform to discuss women’s leadership in humanitarian response, the impacts of El Niño, the 2027 HNRP/JIAF process, and strengthening gender-responsive coordination across Somalia. MYDO recognizes the importance of ensuring that marginalized and minority women and girls, as well as young people, are meaningfully included in humanitarian decision-making and leadership. MYDO remains committed to promoting inclusive, gender-responsive, and community-led humanitarian action that ensures marginalized communities have a voice in decisions affecting their lives.

MYDO Community Door-to-Door Awareness Campaign in IDP Communities

Minority Youth Development Organization (MYDO) successfully conducted a Door-to-Door Community Awareness Campaign in IDP communities, bringing essential awareness messages directly to displaced families.

The campaign focused on raising awareness on Child Protection, GBV Prevention, PSEA, Education, Youth Empowerment, and Community Protection.

Through direct engagement with IDP households, the MYDO team listened to community concerns, shared important information, and encouraged community members to be aware of their rights and available support services.

MYDO remains committed to empowering vulnerable communities, protecting children and families, promoting inclusion, and supporting meaningful community participation.

MYDO Concludes Final Day of CSO Training on Monitoring Inclusive Education

Minority Youth Development Organization (MYDO) has successfully participated in the final day of the CSO Training on Monitoring Inclusive Education, held in Mogadishu on 19–20 August 2026.

As a youth-led civil society organization, MYDO is committed to promoting youth participation, inclusion, community engagement, advocacy, and accountability. Participation in this training provided MYDO with valuable knowledge and practical skills to strengthen its contribution to inclusive and equitable education.

MYDO is proud to continue building its capacity and engaging in initiatives that promote quality education, equal opportunities, and meaningful participation of communities and young people.

We appreciate Education for All Somalia (EFASOM), Education Out Loud (EOL), and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) for organizing this important capacity-building opportunity.

MYDO Participates in Day One of CSO Training on Monitoring Inclusive Education

MYDO was pleased to participate in Day One of the CSO Training on Monitoring Inclusive Education, organized by Education for All Somalia (EFASOM), Education Out Loud (EOL), and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE).

The training focuses on strengthening Civil Society Organizations’ capacity to monitor and advocate for inclusive and equitable education.

MYDO looks forward to applying the knowledge gained to strengthen community engagement, advocacy, and accountability in education.
