🏥 Bringing Essential Healthcare Closer to Communities
Community Health Outreach in Kahda IDP Settlements

As part of its commitment to improving equitable access to primary healthcare services, Mama Amina Health Center successfully conducted a two-day Community Health Outreach in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) settlements of Kahda District, Mogadishu, on 27–28 July 2026.

The outreach was implemented by the dedicated health professionals of Mama Amina Health Center, with the active participation of student volunteers from Mama Amina College of Health Science, combining quality service delivery with practical learning and community engagement.

The outreach focused on providing free primary healthcare consultations, maternal and child health services, health education, health screening, and medical referrals to vulnerable families who have limited access to essential healthcare services.

This initiative reflects our shared commitment to reaching underserved populations, strengthening community resilience, and ensuring that no one is left behind in accessing quality healthcare.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our healthcare workers, student volunteers, community leaders, and all those who contributed to the success of this outreach activity.

✨🏥 A Major Health Victory: Mama Amina Health Center Officially Opened in Kahda District! 🏥✨

We are delighted to congratulate the community of Kahda District on the official opening of the Mama Amina Health Center.

This is a significant milestone for the district, as the center now fully offers all the health services expected from a high-standard health facility.

Below, we have listed the important services available at this center:

Health Services at Mama Amina Health Center:

1- Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Services: Prenatal care, safe delivery services, and care for newborns. This includes screening tests and health education for mothers.

2- Immunization Services: Providing essential vaccines to protect children from dangerous diseases.

3- Nutrition Services: Screening for malnutrition in children and mothers and providing nutritional supplements to combat deficiencies.

4- General Outpatient Department (OPD): Providing basic medical care, treating common illnesses, and referring complex cases to higher-level facilities.

5- Health Awareness/Education: Conducting health talks on hygiene, child feeding, and disease prevention to raise community awareness.

6- WASH Services: Integrating health services with sanitation, including access to clean water and environmental hygiene promotion.

This achievement represents a major step forward, as the residents of Kahda District can now access quality healthcare close to home.

Udhiya Meat Distribution for Vulnerable Families in Somalia

We are pleased to share that during the blessed occasion of Udhiya, Al-Rahma Charity Association (ACA) distributed Udhiya meat to vulnerable families in Somalia, including the disabled, orphans, and those in need. The initiative reached more than 200 families.

This intervention aimed to save lives and share the joy and happiness of Udhiya with deprived and underprivileged people in Somalia. The target groups included women, children, elders, and minorities.

MAMA AMINA COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE INTRODUCES ADVANCED PRACTICAL TRAINING IN OBS & GYN

Mogadishu, Somalia – Medical education in the country is progressing with renewed quality, evident in the efforts undertaken by Mama Amina College of Health Science. The college is actively providing its students with high-quality practical training in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Maternal Care and Women's Health).

The College offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience, under the supervision of instructors who are experts in medical skills.

What did students gain from this training?

Real-World Experience: Students are directly interacting with patients, learning how to examine, care for, and assist pregnant women and those with women's health conditions.

Skill Development: Students have gained a solid understanding of normal delivery procedures, how to respond to emergency obstetric situations, and post-natal care.

Expert Instructors: The training was led by Dr. Mulki Mohamed Hussein, a physician with extensive expertise in various areas of women's health. She guided the students to help them build confidence and advanced skills.

Mama Amina College believes that students should not be limited to theoretical knowledge from books alone but must engage in hands-on practice to be adequately prepared for the job market.

Students who participated in the training expressed joy and satisfaction with the experience they gained during this program. They extended their gratitude to the college administration and the skilled instructors.

Official Visit to Strengthen the Humanitarian Services

MOGADISHU | March 9, 2026 – A delegation from BADEF Development Foundation, led by the Director General, Mr. Bashir Hagio, today paid an official visit to the headquarters of Al-Rahma Charity Association. The delegation was warmly received by the Director General of Al-Rahma Charity Association, Mr. Abdulkadir Mohamed Hussein, and other management officials of the organization.

The meeting between the two parties focused on strengthening free services provided to the community, given the country's difficult humanitarian situation, training and enhancing the capacity of staff, and establishing continuous cooperation based on tangible services that greatly benefit the community.

During the visit, the delegation inspected the various departments managed by Al-Rahma Charity Association, including the Mama Amina College of Health Science, Mama Amina Health Center, and Mama Amina Vocational Center.

This visit is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the effective services that Al-Rahma Charity Association provides to the community, which include healthcare services, education, and vocational training, while also improving the quality of care extended to the community
