❌We call for ZERO tolerance to Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) in Somaliland.

No Sunna. No medicalization. No exceptions.

All forms of are harmful and constitute a serious violation on the human rights, health, dignity, and bodily integrity of girls and women. There is no religious, cultural, or medical justification for this practice.

We call on the Parliament of Somaliland to adopt and enforce comprehensive legislation that criminalizes all forms of FGM, ensuresaccountability, and provides survivor-centered support.

FGM is violence. It must end now.

The Somali Youth Professional Development Organization participated in the Civil Society Summit 2025, which was officially concluded today in Mogadishu. The summit was jointly closed by Somalia Non-State Actors and UNDP in Somalia.

The event spanned three productive days focused on enhancing ideas, collaboration, networking sessions, in-depth discussions, and the presentation of the New Strategic Civil Society Partnership Framework.

The summit was centered around the main theme:
“Operationalizing the Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus in Somalia.”
Special emphasis was placed on analyzing ways to strengthen cooperation among humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding actors within civil society.

Somali Youth Professional Development Organization (SYPDO) Participates in WASH Coordination Meeting in South West State somalia.

The Director of the Water and Energy Department of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of South West State, Mr. Liiban Ahmed Abdullahi Awkhliif, today officially launched in Baidoa the Consultation and Information-Sharing Meeting between the Ministry and humanitarian organizations operating in the fields of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH).

This meeting, which is held monthly, brought together organizations providing essential WASH services to discuss ways of strengthening collaboration and improving service delivery.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Liiban highlighted the key agenda items of the meeting, focusing on enhancing coordination and improving community services related to water, sanitation, and hygiene.

SYPDO is committed to contributing to the development of essential community services to ensure access to clean water, sanitation, and sustainable hygiene.
