GULED Relief and Development organization (GUREDO) is a non-political and non-profitable humanitarian relief- and development organization who works to promote self-reliance and dignity through human transformation going beyond relief and development. GUREDO was established in 15th October, 2015 in Mogadishu by local Somali intellectuals and Diaspora Somali community members from various denominat

ions to provide sustainable livelihoods intervention opportunities to mitigate increasing levels of poverty and deprivation among urban and rural areas of South-Central Somalia. GUREDO was officially registered by Somali ministry of interior in department of humanitarian affairs on June,2016 as a non-Governmental, community development and child focused Organization. GUREDO supports the most Vulnerable Community and orphans for their having access to better education, adequate primary health care, and employment opportunities. Subsequent to series of consultative meetings in Mogadishu and outside of Somalia, the founders responded to the urgent need of Somali people and contributed into the emergency humanitarian crisis and development of their country rehabilitation and reconstruction after years of destructive conflicts and successive droughts and famines which led to the total collapse of socio-economic and political institutions. The organization puts into operation participatory approaches, strategic planning and community mobilization to find solutions to community problems. It offers a range of programming and support in: Emergency Relief Response, Food Security and Livelihoods, Health, Formal Education, WASH, Youth Capacity Development Programs, Micro-Enterprise Development, and protection
Today, GUREDO works directly with the grassroots of disadvantaged households and communities and focuses on poverty reduction strategies that embrace sustainability as a key concept in the project cycle. The mode of delivery is through environmental, social and economic sustainability of livelihood systems derived from GUREDO’s thematic areas. Since inception, the organization was successful to implement a number of emergency and development projects in cooperation with the locals, UN and international agencies. These projects benefited a large number of the most vulnerable communities in south-central Somalia. It created credibility, good-track- record, close collaboration with the all stakeholders; local authorities, communities and donors.

Our Story

NAHDA Human Development Association is a national non-profit making and non- governmental organization founded in April 2011 and subsequently registered under The Banadir Regional administration, NAHDA is also registered in Local authority of Hiran and middle shabelle region. The purpose is to provide sustainable livelihoods intervention opportunities to support the most vulnerable communities both in the urban and rural areas of South-Central Somalia consequently will have access to better education, adequate primary health care, and employment opportunities, respect the ideals of human rights, peace, good-governance and eventually improved sustainable community development. NAHDA Human Development Association is well poised to tackle the humanitarian crisis arising of internally displaced people through its community based social services targeting the youth, women, IDPs and poor rural community, as well as promoting the creation of employment opportunities and income generation projects to reduce the levels of poverty and contribute to National Development Goals. NAHDA’s mandate is to address the needs and issues facing the most vulnerable and marginalized groups in society, mainly young people, women, children and internally displaced persons; NAHDA does this through community mobilization, capacity building and policy advocacy. NAHDA’s operations are designed to meet the needs of the affected people of all categories, the marginalized and the oppressed. NAHDA supports initiatives from beneficiaries to promote their lives.
