SOS Children's Villages Somalia is an organization that provides alternative care for children who have lost parental care in Somalia. At SOS children's Villages they grow up in the loving care of a mother in a stable environment and are supported until they become independent young adults. We have been serving in Somalia for over 35 years with one Children's Villages in Mogadishu. We have reached

381 children in Alternative care, 4510 families in livelihood and 5, 798,002 in Health and Nutrition, 3235 in Education and Early childhood Education and development and 36, 485 in Child Protection. We would much appreciate if you could help a child or family in need under our care.

Today, we were pleased to welcome the Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Bashir Mohamed Jama, to SOS Childrenโ€™s Village in Mogadishu.

The Minister was welcomed by SOS Childrenโ€™s Villages Somalia National Director, Abdikadir Dakane and the District Commissioner of Heliwa, Abdifatah Mohamed.

The minister who interacted with children highlighted the importance of nurturing children with environmental awareness and building their resilience to climate change.

Through environmental education and climate-smart initiatives, SOS Childrenโ€™s Villages Somalia continues to empower children and young people to understand, respond to, and take action on climate change across Somalia. ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒ

After travelling nearly 30 km by donkey cart from Awdinle village, 7-month pregnant Fadumo reached District Hospital just in time to save her 3-year-old son, Salim, from severe acute malnutrition.

During Salim's recovery, Fadumo unexpectedly went into labour, safely delivering a premature baby boy. Thanks to our teams, both brothers survived.

With rising transport costs and closing health centers across , accessible care is a matter of life and death. Supported by the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid via Caafimaad Plus, keeps hope alive for mothers like Fadumo and many others.
