Our Story

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is a global humanitarian organization with a mission to work with people in poverty and distress to create just and positive change. ADRA Somalia belongs to the worldwide ADRA network, comprised of more than 130 supporting and implementing country offices. ADRA has been operating in Somalia since 1992 implementing emergency relief and development interventions in different sectors. ADRA Somalia’s work is anchored on a programming approach that recognises the essence of the communities taking leadership in their own development. Interventions by ADRA Somalia do not relegate the communities to be mere recipients of aid, but significant partners in formulation and ex*****on of strategies that address their needs, therefore, attaining sustainable positive change in their lives through development and relief initiatives.
