Supporting Pregnant and Lactating Mothers in Baardheere

During a recent field visit in Baardheere District, Gedo Region, the WARO Somalia** team engaged with pregnant and lactating mothers to better understand their needs and strengthen community support.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women require timely access to quality maternal healthcare, nutritious food, clean water, and psychosocial support to ensure healthy pregnancies and give every child the best possible start in life.

📍WARO Somalia | El Niño Awareness Campaign – Day 2

Today, the Wadani Relief Organization (WARO) successfully conducted Day Two of the El Niño Awareness Campaign** in Baardheere District, Gedo Region, Somalia**, bringing together IDP communities, local authorities, and community representatives.

The awareness session focused on strengthening community preparedness by sharing practical information on the risks associated with El Niño, including flooding, disease outbreaks, protection concerns, hygiene practices, and early preparedness measures. Participants were encouraged to work closely with local authorities and humanitarian partners to reduce risks and protect vulnerable families.
