In 2009-2012 The full name of foundation registered was Daud Medical Foundation “DMF”. After seen the charter of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia, Article No. 54 of Somali Civil law No.37 which issued 02/06/1973 and necessity of giving an authority to work the Foundation in Somalia. 30th April 2012 also registered the name Daud Medical Foundation “DMF” under OP. 218/051/11-0972/8095

Section 10 of the Non-Governmental Organization Co-ordination Act - at the Kenyan Ministry of State for National Heritage and Culture. (Nairobi - Kenya). In 13 December 2014 Mogadishu - a document formulated after an international conference and minutes of BOD Members shared with partners and DF's friends stated that the DF changed its previous name Daud Medical Foundation to its new name Daud Foundation for Social Welfare. Daud Foundation for Social welfare's first office was in Somalia in 2009. It started with two projects Ala-yasir Specialist Hospital - Mogadishu - where funded by Prof. Dr. Adan Hagi Ibrahim, former Somali Ministry of health and Human Services and Member of the Somali parliament. The other project was Mobile Medical Clinics in Benadir and Lower Shebelle Regions where funded by Helping Hands for Relief and Development HHRD (East Africa) and Organization of Islamic Collation. DF's focus was health delivery and emergency response. The founders of DF is Somali intellectuals realized the need of elite back-up in the development stages in out-spoken voice representing the community words, with the aim of promoting the Objectives of the Foundation, as well as responding emergencies and developing DF's community grass-roots who entirely need the promotion. The Foundation also focuses greatly on education opportunities through the provision of school uniforms, stationery, transportation and assistance with school fees. The Foundation shifted its priorities from mere Health delivery, Emergency response to the larger and established 11th January 2013 Orphan Care Section which accommodates 10 children from the lower Shabelle aged 3 – 10 years. The children are provided Educational stationery and school uniforms, as well as monthly support $30. The orphanage department does not receive any form of financial support from international NGOs, government and relies totally on support from charity persons and the local community. However, in 2014 strong unhealthy condition faced the Founder of the Foundation caused to assign his position to a senior member of BOD Eng. Abdulmunim Adan Hagi Ibrahim. After long suffering with Cancer the Founder of the Foundation Prof. Dr. Adan Hagi Ibrahim died in India 25th March 2016 - GOD REST HIS SOUL. Abdulmunim has worked with DF since its foundation and has served as Project Manager since 2009-2014. Abdulmunim began his work in the Humanitarian Relief and Development after a long and successful career of work. May 2015 he was a Member of Somali Technical Selection Committee (National Level) n 2007 - 2008 he worked with Muslim Hands International - office of the Director Sudan as an Orphanage manager. March 2006 to February 2007 Worked with Al-Wafa’a Charitable Society (WCS) as Emergency Officer in Nairobi. He brings a wealth of experience in emergency relief and project leadership to DMF, Mr. Munim oversees the activities of the Board, providing vision for the Foundation.
