🔹 ABOUT DDO

Deeq Development Organization (DDO) is a humanitarian and development organization working to support vulnerable and underserved communities across Somalia through programs in Health, Nutrition, Education, Child Protection, Livelihoods, Emergency Response, and Community Development.

DDO is inviting qualified, committed, and community-oriented individuals to apply for the position of Enumerator to support upcoming data collection, assessments, surveys, and field activities.

🎯 JOB PURPOSE

The Enumerator will collect accurate, reliable, timely, and confidential information from households, individuals, communities, and other respondents using DDO-approved data-collection tools and procedures.

Selected candidates will work closely with DDO's project and monitoring teams to ensure high-quality data collection and reporting.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct household, community, and individual interviews.
• Collect accurate and complete information using approved questionnaires.
• Use digital data-collection platforms such as KoboToolbox, ODK, CommCare, or similar applications.
• Explain the purpose of the assessment and obtain informed consent.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect respondents' information.
• Follow sampling procedures and field instructions.
• Submit completed questionnaires accurately and on time.
• Report challenges, inconsistencies, and field issues to the supervisor.
• Participate in training and field-testing of data-collection tools.
• Respect local customs, cultures, and community sensitivities.
• Maintain professional relationships with respondents and community leaders.
• Follow DDO's Safeguarding, PSEA, Child Safeguarding, Code of Conduct, and confidentiality policies.

🎓 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should have:

✅ Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, Public Health, Economics, Education, or a related field. Relevant field experience may also be considered.

✅ Previous experience in data collection, household surveys, assessments, monitoring, research, or humanitarian/development projects is an advantage.

✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

✅ Good knowledge of the local community and geographical area of application.

✅ Ability to use smartphones/tablets and digital data-collection applications.

✅ Basic understanding of survey procedures and data quality.

✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

✅ Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

✅ Ability to work in challenging field environments and travel within the assigned area when required.

✅ Fluency in Somali and Arabic is required. Knowledge of English is an advantage.

✅ Honesty, professionalism, neutrality, and respect for all respondents.

Deeq Development Organization (DDO) proudly participated in the Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA) Working Group Meeting held on 31 August 2026 in Mogadishu.

The meeting provided an important platform to discuss key priorities, including the impact of El Niño, the role of Women-Led Organizations (WLOs), contributions to the HNRP/JIAF 2027 process, and strengthening coordination for gender-responsive humanitarian action.

DDO remains committed to promoting gender equality, empowering women and girls, and ensuring the meaningful inclusion of vulnerable communities in humanitarian planning and response.

Child Protection Programme – Deeq Development Organization (DDO)

Deeq Development Organization (DDO) is dedicated to creating a safe, protective, and supportive environment where every child can live free from violence, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harmful practices. DDO works closely with children, families, communities, government authorities, and humanitarian partners to ensure that children’s rights, safety, dignity, and well-being are protected.

Our Key Child Protection Interventions

1. Child Protection Case Management
DDO identifies children facing protection risks and provides appropriate case management, follow-up, referrals, and support based on the individual needs and best interests of each child.

2. Prevention of Violence and Abuse
We conduct community awareness and sensitization activities to prevent child abuse, neglect, exploitation, child marriage, harmful practices, and other forms of violence against children.

3. Psychosocial Support
DDO provides safe and child-friendly activities that help vulnerable and crisis-affected children cope with stress, trauma, and difficult experiences while promoting their emotional and social well-being.

4. Family and Community Engagement
We strengthen parents, caregivers, community leaders, and community-based protection structures to identify child protection concerns early and take appropriate action.

5. Child-Friendly Spaces
DDO supports safe spaces where children can access recreational, educational, psychosocial, and protection-related activities in a secure and inclusive environment.

6. Referral Services
Children and families requiring specialized assistance are connected with appropriate health, education, legal, psychosocial, and other essential services through safe and confidential referral pathways.

7. Protection Monitoring
DDO monitors emerging child protection risks and vulnerabilities within communities and uses the information collected to improve programming, advocacy, and timely response.

8. Child Safeguarding and Accountability
DDO promotes strong safeguarding standards to ensure that children are protected from harm throughout all organizational activities. Staff and volunteers are expected to uphold confidentiality, dignity, accountability, and the best interests of the child.
