With funding from Novo Nordisk Foundation through UNFPA Somalia, we conducted community outreach sessions in educational centers to raise awareness about Female ge***al mutilation (FGM) and promote positive social norms.
Through these engagements we reached over 1000 students and 400 parents across Baidoa, Kismayo, Dhusamareb and Mogadishu, empowering communities to stand together for a future free from FGM.

With funding from Novo Nordisk Fonden through UNFPA Somalia, we conducted a Young Girls’ Storytelling Gathering to amplify the voices of girls and raise awareness about the harmful effects of FGM. Survivors and young girls shared powerful stories that highlighted the physical, psychological, and social impact of FGM.
Their courage opened space for dialogue, encouraged communities to reflect, and strengthened the call to end this harmful practice once and for all.
Ending FGM is not only about protecting the health and dignity of girls-it is about safeguarding their rights, their futures, and their dreams.
Together, we can break the cycle of harmful practices and replace them with positive social norms that empower women and girls.

Today in , we held a public rally demanding that the federal Government of Somalia pass the FGM Bill.
The Event brought together youth, women's groups and Federal members of parliaments, united in the call to end Female Ge***al Mutilation in Somalia.

We urged the Wasaaradda Haweenka iyo Horumarinta Xuquuqda Aadanaha -Mwhrd to table the FGM bill and we called on the members of parliament to pass it into law.

Special thanks to UNFPA Somalia and Novo Nordisk Foundation for their continued support in fight to protect rights of women and girls in Somalia.
No more delays, no more excuses. Girls deserve protection. FGM must end today.

In partnership with UNFPA Somalia, we conducted a 2-day workshop in for police, judges, attorneys general, and lawyers focused on the provisions of the enacted FGM Law and strategies for its effective implementation.

A total of 50 participants attended, strengthening legal understanding and reinforcing the accountability of judicial duty bearers in enforcing the Act.

Together, we are working to protect girls and bring an end to FGM.
