As part of Environment Week, GREDO, in partnership with , handed over 200 trees to Bay Regional Hospital in the presence of the Baidoa District Commissioner and the Hospital Director.

This initiative is part of the DANIDA SPA Green Skills Programme (2025), through which over 3,000 trees have been planted across schools, IDP sites, and public institutions in Baidoa, contributing to environmental restoration, greener communities, and climate resilience.

GREDO Somalia health workers are reaching children in hard-to-reach villages, IDP camps, and host communities through community outreach, awareness sessions, and door-to-door vaccination servicesโ€”ensuring life-saving vaccines reach every household.

At 63 years old, Osman Ibrahim carried the burden of caring for eight children after displacement stripped his family of their livelihood and left them facing hunger and uncertainty.

When he arrived at Misaare IDP Camp in Buurhakaba, he had little hope for the future. Today, he is rebuilding his life with renewed confidence and dignity.

Osman is one of 1,000 vulnerable households supported through the Somalia Cash Consortium , in partnership with Save the Children in Somalia in Buurhakaba and Qansaxdheere districts.

Through the project, he received USD 100 per month for three consecutive months, helping him meet urgent needs and take the first steps toward rebuilding his livelihood.

In response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Baidoa, GREDO through the SOMJR Project, in partnership with Oxfam Somali and funded by the provided 225 vulnerable households with essential hygiene kits.

The kits, containing reusable sanitary pads, shampoo, reusable bags, buckets with lids, jerry cans, soap, and aqua tablets, were distributed through a transparent, dignified, and well-coordinated process to support the health, hygiene, and wellbeing of affected families.

In partnership with Save the Children in Somalia, under the DANIDA SPA Programme, GREDO successfully conducted a 4-day intensive training for 22 youth and women farmers in Baidoa, equipping them with practical skills in agronomic practices, greenhouse vegetable production, pest and disease management, and post-harvest handling.

The hands-on training aimed to strengthen productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve market readiness, contributing to resilient livelihoods and the sustainable expansion of greenhouse farming across the region.
