Access Development and Relief Organization-ADRO is currently supporting drought affected communities in Baidoa District through an emergency water trucking intervention funded by the ( ).

The activity is helping around 1,000 vulnerable households and 7,000 livestock access safe water during this difficult period of drought. For many families, livestock are their main source of food and income, and ensuring they have access to water is critical for protecting livelihoods.

Through this intervention, ADRO continues to stand with communities facing hardship and remains committed to supporting those most affected by the ongoing drought.

Today, the ADRO team met with the 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 & 𝐑𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐌𝐨𝐋𝐑𝐃) 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 at its headquarters in 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐢𝐬𝐚 to kick off the 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐡 + 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐚𝐛𝐨, funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The meeting focused on working together, engaging communities, and ensuring that support reaches households most affected by drought.

Update | ADRO

Today, 14 January 2026, ADRO officials were warmly received at the Ministry of Agriculture in Jowhar District for the official kick-off coordination meeting of the RAF-RF Project.

In addition, ADRO officials also held a coordination meeting with Jowhar District Administration (Office of the DC & Mayor of Jowhar), where the project was discussed and positively received.

Both the Ministry and the regional authorities welcomed the project and confirmed their full support, marking an important step toward the commencement of project activities.

Today, Access Development and Relief Organization-ADRO participated in the monthly coordination meeting in Wajid District, which highlighted the urgent needs of newly displaced families affected by drought.

ADRO reaffirmed its commitment to work with local authorities and other partners to support IDPs with life saving assistance.

Access Development and Relief Organization-ADRO, with support from Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), has successfully distributed kitchen garden inputs for multi-storey gardening to 200 nutrition vulnerable households in Marka District, Lower Shabelle, Southwest State of Somalia.

The distributed inputs including assorted vegetable seeds, basic gardening tools, and high-density polythene bags aim to enhance household food and nutrition security while promoting climate smart, space efficient food production at community level.
