Sahal Organization for Relief and Development is pleased to have participated in the Validation Workshop on the Somalia Water Solutions Feasibility Study, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources (MoEWR) in collaboration with DRC Somalia.
The workshop, held at Airport Hotel in Mogadishu, brought together WASH partners to review key findings and provide technical inputs aimed at strengthening sustainable water solutions in Somalia.
SORFAD appreciates the opportunity to contribute to this important national process and remains committed to supporting collaborative efforts that improve access to safe and sustainable water services.

SAHAL ORGANIZATION FOR RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT,continues to advocate for displaced communities in Lower Shabelle. The New arrivals from lower shabelle, particularly Awdhegle, bariire, and other areas. Some of them arrived in the Lafoole district. The past few days. urgent humanitarian support, shelter, food security and collective action is essential to ensure no one is left behind.

Our protection officer , Rakia Haji osman , participated in the Sahal Organization for Relief and Development, three-day Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Workshop for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) aimed at strengthening civil society engagement in human rights reporting and advocacy.

The workshop, supported by UNTMIS, brought together CSOs from different Federal Member States to prepare for the Fourth Cycle of the UPR. The process included both virtual and in-person sessions, engaging key stakeholders such as organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), minority groups, youth, and journalists to review human rights progress and provide recommendations to enhance Somalia’s human rights protection and inclusive participation in the UPR process.

On 07 October 2025 Somali civil society, in collaboration and the federal member states CSOs, concluded a three-week consultation meeting supported by UTMIS to prepare for the Fourth Cycle of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).

The process included three days virtual and three days physical conference validation the engaging key stakeholders such as OPDs, minority groups, youth, and journalists. Participants shared experiences, reviewed human rights progress, and provided practical recommendations to improve Somalia’s human rights protection and inclusive participation in the UPR proces
