On this World NGO Day (27 February 2026), we recognize and celebrate the vital role that Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) play in promoting humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and social justice across the world. In Somalia, NGOs remain a cornerstone in addressing critical challenges such as drought, conflict, food insecurity, displacement, and limited access to essential services.
On this special day, we particularly acknowledge the contributions of Somali Equal Development and Relief Organisation (SEDRO). SEDRO has demonstrated strong commitment to empowering marginalized communities through integrated Community mobilisation in health, education, water and sanitation (WASH), food security, and protection. The organization plays a key role in responding to drought-affected and conflict-affected populations by providing preventive measures towards drought and climate changees in somalia to cope with this hardship times.
SEDRO’s dedication to equality, community participation, Equality reflects the true spirit of World NGO Day — a day that honors the tireless efforts of organizations working to improve lives and uphold human dignity.
As we commemorate World NGO Day 2026, we reaffirm our collective commitment to strengthening partnerships, promoting accountability, and enhancing the impact of NGOs across Somalia. Together, we can build a more resilient, inclusive, and prosperous future for all Somali communities.
Happy World NGO Day 2026! 🌍✨
