Improving Mental Health Services

We successfully conducted a one-day training for 30 healthcare professionals from Hargeisa Group Hospital (HGH), aimed at strengthening mental health service delivery.

Key focus areas included:
• Patient referral systems
• Integration of mental health into primary healthcare
• Outreach activities and home visits
• Counselling for mental well-being and ongoing support

The General Assistance and Volunteers Organization (GAVO) conducted a mental health and human rights training for elders and religious leaders in Hargeisa. The training aimed to strengthen community awareness on mental health, promote human rights, and encourage the important role of elders and religious leaders in supporting social well-being and peaceful communities.
