We are pleased to welcome to the ODAWO NGO office in Oodweyne today, 27 August 2026, a team from the Somali Cash Consortium. The team is visiting to conduct a field observation of the climate adaptation and community resilience projects(CRESS&RR) jointly implemented by ODAWO and CWW in Oodweyne District.

In particular, the team will assess how the cooperatives operating under these projects are functioning. The Somali Cash Consortium is planning to transition from the current system of providing support to individual modality to a group-based approach, in which support is provided collectively to the targeted communities.

Another key objective of the visit is to explore and strengthen localization, particularly by promoting greater involvement and ownership of local organizations and communities in the implementation of the projects.

The distribution aims to promote rainwater harvesting and increase target households’ access to sufficient and safe water, contributing to improved household resilience and livelihoods.
