Restoring ecosystems. Empowering communities. Building climate resilience.

At Horn Nature Conservation, we believe lasting environmental change begins with local action. From restoring 654 hectares of mangroves and protecting 80 km of coastline to engaging 750,000+ people in climate action and empowering farmers with sustainable practices, every milestone is driven by community partnership.

We invite donors, partners, and changemakers to join us in scaling nature-based solutions across the Horn of Africa.

Together, we don’t just restore landscapes—we restore hope.

Dear Secretary-General,

Imagine being one of the world's most climate-vulnerable countries, yet one where civil society organizations—particularly those working on environmental conservation and climate action—are few. And those that do exist often struggle to access international support because many global funding opportunities and grant programs are inaccessible or have eligibility requirements that exclude them.
Imagine where many people still do not believe that climate change is real, despite facing its consequences every single day, and who need guidance.
Imagine communities that once had abundant water sources, rich vegetation, and vast grasslands where children played and hid among the tall grasses. Today, many of those same places have become dry, degraded, and barren landscapes.
Imagine where environmental degradation and desertification are spreading rapidly, threatening not only them but also affecting and spreading to neighboring countries. A crisis that demands urgent action before it becomes irreversible.
Imagine two generations of siblings living side by side now. One that grew up herding cattle, drinking its fresh milk, and living from the richness of their land, and another that has never known that we had cows because successive droughts have wiped out and destroyed traditional livelihoods.
Imagine a country with unique biodiversity, home to plant species and wildlife that may exist nowhere else on Earth. Yet climate change, environmental degradation, and habitat loss are threatening these species before they can be fully documented, studied, or protected.
Imagine where young environmental leaders and climate advocates rarely have the opportunity to engage with their peers around the world or participate in major international discussions where decisions about the future of our planet are made.
Imagine where modern technologies and innovative solutions have not yet reached, not because the need does not exist, but because of limited expertise, inadequate resources, and a lack of technical capacity.
Imagine and imagine what it means to face the climate crisis under these circumstances.
This is not an imaginary story; it's reality.

Imagine a child born in Puntland today.

Will they grow up seeing thriving ecosystems, wildlife, and productive land?

Or will they inherit drought, degraded landscapes, and disappearing biodiversity?

The choices we make today will shape the environment they inherit tomorrow.

Horn Nature Conservation is working with communities to restore ecosystems, strengthen climate resilience, and protect biodiversity across Puntland.

But restoration cannot happen without support.

🌱 Every donation helps restore nature.
🌍 Every contribution helps protect future generations.

Puntland is facing a growing environmental crisis.

Years of drought, land degradation, biodiversity loss, and climate change are threatening the livelihoods of thousands of families. Every season, fertile land disappears, wildlife habitats shrink, and communities become more vulnerable.

Horn Nature Conservation is working on the frontlines to restore ecosystems, protect biodiversity, support climate-smart agriculture, and empower local communities to build resilience against climate change.

But we cannot do it alone.

Your donation helps us:
🌱 Restore degraded land
🌳 Plant and protect trees
💧 Strengthen climate resilience
🦌 Protect wildlife and biodiversity
👩🏾‍🌾 Support sustainable livelihoods for local communities

The future of Puntland depends on the actions we take today.

Donate now and become part of the solution.

Together, we can turn environmental loss into environmental recovery.

Rangeland pollution is a hidden driver of land degradation. Discarded plastic bags, empty veterinary chemical containers, oil spills, and vehicle waste, including used oil and filters, degrade land and contaminate soil, water, and grazing areas. These impacts threaten livestock, ecosystems, and pastoral livelihoods. Keeping rangelands clean and healthy is everyone's responsibility. 🌱
