We conducted a public awareness campaign in the city of Ceerigaabo, aimed at promoting patriotism, strengthening citizens’ understanding of their civic responsibilities, and encouraging the active participation of youth and women in political and public affairs.
The campaign focused on building an informed and engaged society that understands both its rights and duties, while empowering young people and women to play a meaningful role in leadership, governance, and the overall development and stability of the country.

We sincerely thank the European Union for its continued support of our initiatives and community-focused efforts.

We are incredibly grateful and proud to nominate the awarded 10 youth groups from our Community-Led Initiatives Competition, which we launched just a weeks ago.

This grant aims to establish and promote innovative, community-driven initiatives at the neighborhood level, empowering residents—especially youth and women—to propose and implement solutions that address pressing local needs while strengthening civic engagement and local ownership.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the European Union (EU) for the generous funding that made this initiative possible, and to the Burao Local Government for their strong collaboration and support.

We held a Policy Forum in Hargeisa focused on translating joint research findings by Univeristy of Burao , University of Washington and Case Western Reserve University into practical policy solutions, particularly in the area of Islamic approaches to mental health care. The forum brought together government officials, universities, health experts, religious scholars, and civil society representatives.

Participants included the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, the Regional Coordinator of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments, and the Deputy Director of the Mental Health Department at the Ministry of Health Development.

Discussions explored how Islamic healing practices can be integrated with modern psychology into national health policies, with expectations that the forum will generate actionable, evidence-based policy recommendations aligned with community needs.
