This week’s child protection awareness activities focused on increasing community understanding of child rights, the dangers of child labor and early marriage, and the importance of reporting abuse. Outreach efforts targeted vulnerable families, community leaders, and schools in high-risk areas.

5 Challenges Faced
Limited transportation restricted outreach in rural zones.
Cultural taboos still hinder open discussion on sexual abuse.
Some caregivers resist external involvement in “family issues.”
6. Recommendations
Strengthen partnerships with religious and clan leaders for better community engagement.
Increase child-friendly materials (comics, videos) in Somali language.
Provide continuous training to local volunteers.
Set up mobile helpline or SMS-based reporting tool in local dialects.
