Bay Women Association Network (BAYWAN), in partnership with Saferworld and with support from the European Union, convened a major policy dialogue bringing together 120 participants from government institutions, civil society, religious and clan leaders, women, youth, and community representatives.

The forum provided a platform to share consolidated Early Warning & Early Response (EWER) findings, discuss emerging security trends, highlight GBV concerns, and identify practical policy recommendations for strengthening community-driven peace and response systems in Southwest State.

The dialogue reinforced the importance of inclusive governance, stronger coordination between communities and institutions, and ensuring that women, youth, and marginalized voices play an active role in shaping peace and security policies.

BAYWAN remains committed to advancing community-led solutions and promoting a safer, more inclusive Somalia.

Every girl deserves education, safety, and the freedom to choose her own path - not a life decided for her.

Let’s stand together as families, communities, and leaders to end early and forced child marriage.
Protect her rights. Support her education. Empower her voice.

When we protect our girls, we protect the future of Somalia.
