The Geledi community in Germany is making waves in the fight for justice and human rights in Somalia, shining a spotlight on the case of former MP Muna IBRAHIM Abiikar. Her unjust imprisonment symbolizes the broader issues of political oppression and lack of transparency in Somalia's court processes.

In a recent urgent meeting, the community reaffirmed their commitment to advocating for Muna's immediate release and bringing attention to the injustices faced by those challenging the political norm. This movement is further fueled by the tragic incident involving Captain Anwar in Afgoye, driving the demand for accountability and the rule of law.

Muna Omar Mohamed, a civil society representative, is at the forefront, appealing for international engagement and urging President Hasan Sheikh Mohamud to address these political imprisonments. Muna Abiikar's case is a stark illustration of the troubling trend of political persecution through fabricated charges.

Justice for Afgooye Fallen Heroes: A Call to Action for the Somali National Army and Government

In the wake of the tragic ambush that claimed the lives of four courageous soldiers from the Geledi clan, Baraawe Human Rights Protection is calling for urgent action. These brave men, Fu'ad Ali Mayow, Qaalid Muhudin Warabe, Anwar Ibrahim Yusuf, and Cataroow, were not only defenders of our nation but also beloved members of our community.

The circumstances surrounding their deaths raise serious concerns about loyalty and trust within our military, especially with reports of involvement from the Gaashaan groups. The impact on civilians, including injuries and unjust detentions, further underscores the dire need for justice in Afgooye.

Local organizations, elders, and women's groups are uniting to demand accountability, as the community grapples with escalating violence and lawlessness. The cries for justice cannot be ignored—our people deserve safety and stability.

We urge the Somali National Army and Government to take immediate action to restore order and ensure that such tragedies do not happen again. Together, we can honor our fallen heroes by standing up for justice and peace in our beloved Afgooye.

🚨 **A Crucial Plea for Justice: The Case of Muna Ibrahim Abiikar** 🚨

To His Excellency Hassan Mo’allin Mohamoud, Somalia’s Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs,

We reach out with an urgent request for your intervention regarding the distressing situation of former federal legislator Muna Ibrahim Abiikar.

Muna, who served with distinction in the Somali parliament, has been unjustly incarcerated in Mogadishu Central Prison for over three years without any lawful conviction.

Muna’s plight began when she was kidnapped by Daahir Sheikh Ahmed, the brother of former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed. This incident occurred after Muna lent Daahir $27,000 at his request, under the pretense of assisting his ailing mother and completing a house he was building.

After some time, when Muna sought to reclaim her money, Daahir falsely alleged that he owed to her $492,000. Utilizing his connections and influence, he has effectively silenced any media coverage of this egregious case.

Moreover, Muna's family has been prohibited from visiting her, and she is reportedly facing threats to her life, including alarming statements from Daahir claiming that Muna will perish in prison and that he will target another family member next.

This situation is further complicated by reports suggesting that Daahir has ties to the Somali National Army and has engaged in the sale of military uniforms and weapons to those who can pay.

His powerful connections to senior government officials only serve to deepen the injustice faced by Muna.

We earnestly urge the Somali government, along with international human rights organizations, to take immediate and decisive action to secure Muna’s release and ensure her safety.

The ongoing violation of her rights is intolerable and must be addressed with the urgency it deserves.

🚨 Attention: Urgent Alert 🚨

We must bring attention to a critical issue that is plaguing war-torn societies: the alarming rise of organ trafficking. This illicit trade has found fertile ground in regions such as Africa and the Middle East, where vulnerable individuals are being preyed upon for their organs. Shockingly, the prices for these harvested organs have reached astronomical figures, with kidneys fetching up to $262,000, hearts priced at $119,000, and livers commanding $157,000.

Unscrupulous agencies exploit the desperation of innocent individuals by promising them overseas employment opportunities. These victims are enticed with processed paperwork, plane tickets, and the hope of a better life abroad. However, instead of finding legitimate employment, they tragically become victims of a ruthless trade: their lives are mercilessly taken, and their organs are harvested.

One of the most heartbreaking aspects of this crisis is the sheer number of people who go missing every day in war-torn societies. In Somalia alone, approximately 50 individuals vanish daily, resulting in a staggering total of 18,000 missing persons per year. What adds to the tragedy is that the majority of these victims are children and young teens, whose lives are cut short in the most horrific manner.

A recent and concerning development is the deployment of over 5,000 Somali women to Saudi Arabia by the Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, to work as housemaids. The question that arises from this initiative is: where are these women now? Are they safe from the clutches of organ traffickers?

It is of utmost importance that we acknowledge and address this pressing issue. We must stand united against organ trafficking and demand justice for those who have fallen victim to this heinous crime. Together, we can work towards creating a safer world for all.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated team at Wararka Maanta Soomaaliya for their tireless efforts in reporting on crucial issues that affect our communities. Let us remain informed, vigilant, and committed to combating organ trafficking.

Example of Recent Case in Somalia:

MOGADISHU: Meet Fatiya, a 13-year-old girl from an impoverished background. Every day, she ventures into the wealthy suburbs of Mogadishu to work as a house help, while she herself resides in one of the most destitute shanty suburbs of the city. Unfortunately, Fatiya has also been coerced into participating in the horrific practice of child trafficking for organ removal. Exploiting the dire poverty that grips the shanty suburbs, a new organ trade syndicate has taken advantage of Fatiya and others like her. It is important to note that her involvement in this criminal activity constitutes human trafficking, a grave offense that could result in decades of imprisonment. However, given her age, she may not fully comprehend the risks associated with her actions.

Fatiya operates on an order basis, receiving a mere 1000 Somali shillings (equivalent to approximately US$1.74) for each child she delivers to the agents involved in the illegal organ trade. This seemingly small reward is enough to entice a young and unsuspecting girl like Fatiya into the clutches of these unscrupulous dealers.

Ref: Demand for 4.3 Million Baraawe Airport Accountability and Responsibility

It is imperative that we address the corruption surrounding the development of Baraawe International Airport in Somalia. The Baraawe Community rightfully demands transparency and accountability for the $4.3 million invested in the airport.

We call upon the European Union, African Development Bank, and all entities that generously donated and contributed to support the people of Somalia, especially the people of Baraawe District with a suitable airport, to take the lead in ensuring proper follow-up is conducted to address the lack of accountability and transparency.

The people of Somalia deserve to know how their funds were utilized and why the airport remains inadequate, lacking a tarred runway, fencing, and necessary equipment, including a working tower for air controllers.

The current state of the airport poses significant inconveniences to the people of Baraawe and Somalia as a whole, as flights cannot land during and after rain due to the condition of the runway, which gets washed away and takes up to a week to be restored.

This highlights the urgent need for accountability and the necessity to address the issues at hand.

Any company responsible for the Baraawe Airport project development must be held accountable.

It is crucial that all stakeholders, including the government, donors, and community leaders, come together to thoroughly investigate and rectify the corruption surrounding the development of Baraawe International Airport. By holding those accountable and demanding transparency, we can work towards a safer and more efficient transportation system for the people of Baraawe.

Attached are the actual designs for the Baraawe airport that were never implemented, along with the latest video taken from Baraawe Airport in 2024, demonstrating the significant investment of 4.3 million US dollars in the construction.

🤝🏠 We are thrilled to introduce Baraawe Human Rights Protection, a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to advocating for and safeguarding the fundamental human rights of marginalized communities in the Baraawe District.

With unwavering dedication, we strive to address the pressing needs and challenges faced by these vulnerable groups.

One of the pivotal issues we are tirelessly tackling is the acute shortage of shelters for families residing in the district.

Within this population, there are numerous families, including minors, the elderly, single mothers, and displaced individuals, who are forced to endure the harsh reality of inadequate housing.

This dire situation exposes them to the elements, jeopardizing their safety and overall well-being.

In addition to the scarcity of shelters, these communities grapple with further adversities, such as insufficient sanitation facilities and limited access to education.

The absence of proper toilets and sanitation infrastructure significantly heightens the risk of disease transmission, posing a serious threat to the health of community members.

Moreover, the lack of educational resources and infrastructure hampers the educational development of countless children, depriving them of opportunities for growth and advancement.

To combat these urgent challenges, Baraawe Human Rights Protection is actively seeking collaborative partnerships with like-minded organizations. Together, we aim to construct shelters for 1000 families in Baraawe, providing them with safe and secure housing. By addressing the critical issue of inadequate housing, we seek to improve the living conditions of these vulnerable groups, fostering a sense of stability, dignity, and hope.

Transparency is paramount to us, and we are committed to sharing a comprehensive report on the progress and impact of this project on our official website, www.baraawehr.org. This ensures that stakeholders, supporters, and the wider community can remain informed and engaged, actively participating in and contributing to the initiative's success.

By extending your support to Baraawe Human Rights Protection, both as an individual and as an organization, you have the remarkable opportunity to contribute to the betterment of the community.

Together, we can make a tangible and positive difference in the lives of those in need, championing human rights and fostering a strong culture of community support within the Baraawe District. Let us unite in this noble cause and create a safer, more inclusive, and equitable Baraawe for all.

Baraawe Human Rights Protection is cooperating with the Baraawe District Commissioner Omar Sheikh Abdi and Drs Amina Kullow Sayid to smoothly implement the IDP shelter project in Baraawe District.

Cadaalad darada loo gaystay ex Xildhibaan Muna Ibraahim Abiikar oo afduub loogu haysto xabsiga dhexe ee Muqdisho

Muna Ibraahim Abiikar waxa ay si sharci darro ah ugu xiran tahay xabsiga magaalada Muqdishu mudo 4 sano ah , taas oo si cad ugu xad gudub ugu ah xuquuqdeeda aasaasiga ah ee bini’aadminimada.

Xaaladan nasiib darrada ah ayaa timid markii ay si geesinimo leh u diiday soo jeedinta midowga guurka ee Daahir Sheekh Axmed, Madaxweynihii h**e ee Soomaaliya Shariif Sheekh Axmed walaalkiisa

Muna Ibrahim Abiikar iyadoon aysan maxkamadi kuhelin wax dambi ah ayeey 4 sano xqdaro ugu xian tahay xabsi kuyaala Muqdisho

Muna Ibraahim Abiikar ayaa horay usoo noqotay xubin ka tirsan golaha sharci-dejinta Soomaaliyeed, waxeeyna xaq u leedahay inay hesho maxkamad cadaalad ah.

Muna Ibraahim Abiikar ayaa weli ku xiran xabsiga Muqdisho, iyadoo aan loo marin sifo sharci ah, kaliya ma ahan in lagu xad-gudbay xuquuqdeeda aasaasiga ah, balse waxay meesha ka saaraysaa kalsoonida ay shacabku ku qabaan hufnaanta nidaamka garsoorka, magaalada Muqdisho.

Waxaa lama huraan ah in dowladda Soomaaliya ay si deg deg ah wax uga qabato arrimahan qaloocan ee dhanka cadaaladda ah iyo sidii loo ilaalin lahaa xuquuqda iyo xorriyadda qof kasta oo ay ka mid tahay Muna Ibraahim Abiikar.

Sidoo kale, waxaa si weyn looga walaacsan yahay in Daahir Sheekh Axmed oo la dhashay Madaxweynihii h**e ee Soomaaliya Shariif Sheekh Axmed uu kaalin mug leh ka qaatay soo qabashada xariga sharci darada ah ee Muna ka dib markii ay diiday hindisihiisa guur isagoo ku weeraray gurigeeda halaasina uu kawatay

Eedeymaha been abuurka ah ee uu Daahir Sheekh Axmed ku doodayo ayaa ah inuu Muna Ibraahim Abiikar oo ay ka mid tahay inuu ku leeyahay lacag 500,000 doollarka Mareykanka ah oo ay ku qaadatay agab ciidan, sida qoryaha daran dooriga u dhaca, waa sida uu Daahir Sheikh Ahmed ku andacoonayo.

Arintaan, kiiska Muna ayaa u baahan fara gelinta Dowlada Federaalka Soomaaliyeed iyo tan beesha caalamka

Warar lagu kalsoon yahay ayaa sheegaya in Daahir Sheekh Axmed uu ku takri falay xilkii uu ka hayay ciidamada xoogga dalka Soomaaliyeed isla markaana uu ka faa’ideysanayo xiriirka uu la leeyahay dowladda taasoo uu si xaq daro ah uu ugu istic maalay xarig aan sharci aheyn

Tani waxay ka dhigan tahay xad-gudub cad oo ka dhan ah xuquuqda aadanaha, waxaana muhiimad gaar ah leh in dowladda Soomaaliya ay wax ka qabato kiiskan Muna Ibrahim Abiikar

Waad ku mahadsan tahay waqtigaaga iyo tixgelintaada.

Si wada jir ah ayaan wax uga beddeli karnaa oo aan ugu dagaallami karnaa caddaaladda.

09/06/2024

Racial discrimination when it comes to Somali Bantu, known as Jareer, marrying Somali Jileec - those with soft hair - is a grave issue that affects the entire Somali Bantu population in Somalia.

They are unjustly prohibited from intermarrying with other Somali clans, despite the diversity within the Somali society.

According to Article 28 of the Somali constitution, marriage is the foundation of the family, which in turn is the foundation of society. The state has a legal duty to protect marriage and its principles.

Baraawe Human Rights Protection strongly condemns this act as it not only violates the Islamic way of marriage but also goes against Article 28 of the Somali constitution.

Sadly, such cases of discrimination are all too common in Somalia.

We call on the Somali government and society as a whole to address this issue, promote inclusivity, and ensure that all individuals have equal rights and opportunities to marry based on love and mutual consent.

We must work together to eradicate racial discrimination and build a society that celebrates diversity and upholds the principles of justice and equality for all.

📢 Urgent Appeal for Justice 📢

To: Local, National, and International Media, News TV, Journals

Hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring your attention to a matter of utmost importance and urgency regarding the unjust detention of Muna Ibrahim Abikar, a former representative of the Somali Legislative Body in Somalia Mogadishu.

Muna Ibrahim Abikar has been unlawfully confined for the past couple of years, in clear violation of her basic human rights. This unfortunate situation arose when she courageously declined a proposal of matrimonial union from Dahir Sheikh Ahmed, the brother of the ex-Somali President Shariif Sheikh Axmed.

Instead of respecting Muna's decision, she has been subjected to an unfair and biased imprisonment without the benefit of a fair trial as guaranteed by the Somali federal constitution. This flagrant disregard for justice and equality undermines the principles upon which our society is built.

As a respected former member of the Somali legislative body, Muna deserves the right to a fair trial, where her alleged transgressions can be impartially examined, and her innocence or guilt determined based on the presented evidence.

The continued detention of Muna Ibrahim Abikar in Mogadishu jail without due process not only violates her fundamental rights but also erodes public trust in the integrity of the judicial system and undermines the rule of law.

It is imperative that immediate action is taken by the Somali government to rectify this grave miscarriage of justice and ensure the protection of the rights and freedoms of all individuals, including Muna Ibrahim Abikar.

Furthermore, it is deeply concerning that Dahir Sheikh Ahmed, the brother of former Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, has played a significant role in the apprehension of Muna following her rejection of his matrimonial proposal.

The false allegations made by Dahir Sheikh Ahmed against Muna, including claims of owing her $500,000 for receiving military equipment, such as guns and heavy machine guns, are outrageous and lack substantiation. These claims were made in a closed courtroom, depriving the media of access.

Reliable reports indicate that Dahir Sheikh Ahmed is abusing his position of power as a member of the Somali national army SNA and exploiting his connections within the government.

This constitutes a clear violation of human rights, and it is of utmost importance that the Somali government addresses this case of blackmail.

I appeal to you to join us in solidarity with Muna Ibrahim Abikar and advocate for justice in her case. We must work together to secure her release, emphasize the importance of due process, and demand unwavering respect for human rights in Somalia. By sharing Muna's story with human rights organizations, we can amplify our voices and strive for a just and compassionate society.

The US, UK government, African Union, and United Nations Human Rights Commission to raise awareness and pressure the Somali government.

Please use the hashtags , , and to raise awareness about this urgent matter. Your support in sharing this case with international human rights advocates and organizations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Together, we can make a difference and fight for justice.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Baraawe Human Rights Protection.

To: Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch,
To: Somalia President Hasan Sheikh Mohamud,

Ref: The Longest detention in Somalia

Subject: Urgent Plea for Justice for Muna Ibrahim Abikar captive and held in prison for 4 years without court found proven guilty

Dear friends,

Baraawe Human Rights Protection is deeply troubled by the grave violation of human rights in Somalia's judicial system. We bring to your attention the unjust imprisonment of Muna Ibrahim Abikar, who has been held captive without any court sentence or evidence for the past four years.

This blatant disregard for the rule of law is unacceptable and requires your immediate attention. Muna's arrest was orchestrated by Dahir Sheikh Ahmed, the brother of former Somali president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, without any substantiated evidence of Muna possessing his $500,000 US dollars.

This prolonged detention without due process violates the principles enshrined in Article 34 of the Somali Federal Constitution, guaranteeing the right to a fair public hearing by an independent and impartial court within a reasonable time. Additionally, Article 35 of the Somali Federal Constitution clearly states that an accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a final manner by a court of law.

The imprisonment of Muna also violates the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as she has been held in jail for four years without being proven guilty in a court of law.

It is unlawful to hold someone in prison for such a prolonged period without a fair public trial.

Reliable information suggests that Muna's arrest came after she rejected Dahir Sheikh Ahmed's marriage proposal.

The Digil elders, Muna's family, and Baraawe Human Rights Protection, implore you, President Hasan Sheikh, and the Somali federal government to take immediate action to rectify this grave injustice and secure the release of Muna Ibrahim Abikar.

We vehemently condemn this unjust four-year imprisonment without a fair trial and demand justice and the immediate release of Muna Ibrahim Abikar.

We call upon Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch to intervene in this case and ensure the protection of Muna Ibrahim Abikar's rights.

Together, let us stand against such violations and work towards ensuring fairness prevails in Somalia's judicial system. We urge you to join us in demanding the fair treatment of individuals and seeking justice for Muna Ibrahim Abikar.

Muna Ibrahim Abikar, a former member of the Somali Federal Parliament, deserves justice and the opportunity to prove her innocence.

Please use the hashtags and to support this cause.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.

We trust in your commitment to upholding human rights and ensuring justice for all.
