A Meaningful Act of Solidarity 💙

At the end of their training mission at Maison de la Gare, the Texas Trauma Team also demonstrated great generosity by donating a significant supply of medicines and medical equipment to our organization.

This donation will help improve the healthcare services provided to the children and young people we support every day, strengthening our capacity to meet their needs and ensure their well-being.

Beyond sharing their knowledge through the TBRI training, this gesture reflects a genuine commitment to child welfare and international solidarity.

The entire Maison de la Gare team extends its heartfelt thanks to the Texas Trauma Team for their support, trust, and valuable partnership.

Together, we continue to build a safer, more caring, and more protective environment for children.

A look back at the transformation of our agricultural site!

It all began with the cleaning and preparation of the land carried out through the commitment of Book Humanitaire Association and the students of CFTA. Afterwards, the Maison de la Gare team continued the development work with determination, gradually transforming the area into a productive agricultural site.

From preparing the plots and installing the greenhouse to cultivating a variety of crops, each step contributed to turning this land into a thriving production space.

Today, the site hosts a wide range of crops, from vegetables to fruit trees, reflecting the collective efforts invested in this project and Maison de la Gare’s commitment to sustainable initiatives that promote local development.

Watch this video to discover the different stages of this transformation, from an unused piece of land to a green and productive agricultural space.

📚✨ Learning to Read, One Word at a Time ✨📚

At the YAAKAAR Boarding Program, children continue to strengthen their reading skills every day with dedication and determination.

In these photos, one of our students is practicing reading aloud at the blackboard in front of his classmates. Through syllables, words, and simple sentences such as “Here is the chalk,” “The classroom is clean,” and “The teacher takes out the box,” he is gradually improving his French language skills and building self-confidence.

Reading at the blackboard is an essential exercise. It helps children develop their pronunciation, comprehension, and confidence when speaking in front of others. Every word read correctly is a small victory that brings them one step closer to academic success.

🌱 At YAAKAAR, we believe that education is a powerful tool for change and that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.

Where Courage Takes Shape

We are pleased to share with you a moment of pride and transformation at our center in Saint Louis: the recent karate belt‑grading ceremony for our young talibé students. More than a sporting event, this day highlighted the refuge, discipline, and confidence that karate offers to children who live uncertainty and hardship.

Under the guidance of sensei Ignéty and with the steadfast support of coach Buaró, the children demonstrated remarkable progress — precise movements, calm focus, and the perseverance that has carried them from training on the sand to this milestone of recognition. The ceremony also honored Buaró’s achievement as a newly certified B‑level kumite judge, a powerful symbol of what former talibés can accomplish and give back.

We invite you to discover the full story of this day of dignity, effort, and hope at this link : https://buff.ly/nXnMvqz

At Maison de la Gare, our local humanitarian action has helped meet the essential needs of thousands of children this year. Because hygiene is essential for health, dignity, and well-being, we provide children with spaces dedicated to washing their clothes, as well as toilets and washing areas where they can clean themselves in safe and decent conditions. Toothbrushes and hygiene products are also distributed to raise awareness among young people about the importance of daily care and oral hygiene. This support is complemented by the distribution of clean and appropriate clothing and shoes. Through this assistance, more than 600 children have received clothing and shoes, while over 2,000 young people have benefited from essential hygiene kits and products, helping to provide them with a healthier, safer, and more respectful living environment that meets their fundamental needs.

For two months, Maison de la Gare had the pleasure of welcoming Lisa-Lou as an intern, alongside Manon Cesbron. Together, they shared the daily life of the children and actively contributed to the center’s activities through various educational and social projects.

Lisa-Lou was particularly involved in the design of the organization’s activity guide as well as the development of the psychological assessment form for the children. She also contributed to setting up a recreational space designed to provide the children with greater comfort and enjoyment during their free time.

Throughout her stay, she took part in recreational activities, snack preparation and distribution, and shared many meaningful moments with the children. Together with Manon, she also helped organize a festive afternoon filled with joy, highlighted by a traditional “faux lions” performance and a shared snack time.

Through her energy, sensitivity, and commitment, Lisa-Lou brought a positive spirit to Maison de la Gare. The whole team sincerely thanks her for this shared experience and wishes her all the best in her future endeavors.

🩺 2025 in Numbers: Strengthening Healthcare Support for Children

In 2025, the Maison de la Gare infirmary continued and intensified its healthcare actions for children in vulnerable situations, both at the center and in partner daaras.

✨ 1,398 children received medical care during healthcare visits organized in the daaras, representing an increase of more than 150 children compared to the previous year.

🚑 At the center itself, a total of 4,545 medical interventions and treatments were carried out throughout the year.

💊 These interventions ensured effective treatment of the most common health conditions, including:
✔️ Skin diseases and dermatological conditions
✔️ Wound and injury care
✔️ Essential consultations and primary treatments

🏥 This year, six children also benefited from comprehensive medical support, including hospitalization, ensuring appropriate follow-up care and better treatment in hospital settings.

Every treatment provided represents far more than a medical intervention: it is protection, care, listening, and another chance for these children to grow up in better conditions.

Thank you to all our partners and supporters who make this mission possible every day.

A second medical check-up for the children in the YAAKAAR program

As part of the regular follow-up for the children welcomed at the Maison de la Gare boarding school, a second medical check-up was carried out by a doctor from Saint-Louis Hospital.

This new health assessment made it possible to monitor the progress of previously identified illnesses and ensure the children’s overall well-being. Thanks to this continuous medical support, the children receive care adapted to their needs and benefit from better health monitoring in their daily lives.

At Maison de la Gare, we firmly believe that a healthy child has a better chance to grow, learn, and build a brighter future.
