Final update from Mike as we arrived back in Carlisle today.

After 26 days, 8900 miles round trip travelling through 6 countries and a slight diversion to Malaga to get an emergency passport on the way back. The team has arrived safely home 💚🏜️⛺️🛻 and raising a fantastic amount for Team Evie by going over their target…. Now that everyone is back in the country, here's a little bit of an overview of the last few weeks from Carlisle -> Dakar ...
France: from the eurotunnel, lunch in Abbeville, down to Le Mans.
Spain : San Sebastian, then a few days later down to Seville and Tarifa for the ferry.
Portugal: Castelo Branco (and the start of thr challenge!)
Morocco: off the ferry in Tangir, then through Casablanca, Agadir, Tafnidilt and the start of the Sahara.
Western Sahara (technically also Morocco) : a lot of desert, and Dakhla
Mauritania : more desert, Nouadhibou and a drive through a very busy Nouakchott
Senegal : Saint Louis, Kaolack, and Dakar

Some gorgeous things seen along the way, hopefully this shows just how many places we went through on the way there.

After an epic nearly 24hrs of driving for Mike & Tom from Malaga to get an emergency passport issued they travelled right through Spain & France, reunited with Josh & Georgia at Calais for the Eurotunnel this morning, they are now all on home turf 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and the last leg heading home 🥰🛻

Update… little bit of an unexpected turn today in making their way home, with passports being missing for hours at the border crossing between Senegal 🇸🇳& Mauritania 🇲🇷…today’s ferry crossing from Morocco 🇲🇦 to Spain 🇪🇸 no problem 😉
but then somehow Mike has lost his passport at the ferry port in Spain, so Mike & Tom have had to drive to Malaga to the British Embassy to get an emergency passport to get home and off course by the time they get there it’s closed 😫 so an impromptu overnight stay in Malaga & first thing in the morning appt to hopefully 🤞 get a emergency passport issued and then hoof it through Spain & France to catch the euro tunnel on Sat morning 🫠🙄

Yesterday the guys heading back home travelled from Mauritania 🇲🇷 and through the border to Morocco 🇲🇦 when they got the gates closed so they were in no mans land until they reopened… so in true British style Tom got the camping chair out and got a brew ☕️ going whilst waiting 🤣
