A graduate of the University of Ibadan and Daarud Da'wah wal Irshad in Lagos, Nigeria, Alhajia AdeyinkaShukrah is an International Volunteer with QSV and a promising scholar and educator in her own right. Through QSV's Arabic & Islamic Studies Academy, she contributes her knowledge and skills in Islamic studies, Arabic literacy, and Qur'an recitation, teaching and supporting women and children in her community. Her commitment demonstrates how education, volunteerism, and faith-centered leadership can work together to strengthen communities and expand opportunities for learning.

Building More Than Walls: Creating a Place to Learn, Connect & Grow
The QUEEN SHEBA VILLAGE Women & Girls Education Social Center, currently under construction in Senegal, West Africa, represents far more than a physical building. Through our “Building More Than Walls” initiative, we are creating a welcoming community resource where marginalized women, girls, youth, and nearby community members can access opportunities to learn, gather, exchange ideas, strengthen social connections, and develop skills that support their futures.
Functional. Purposeful. Productive. The Center will be functional by providing dedicated spaces for education, skills development, meetings, social activities, and community-based programs. It will be purposeful because every space is being developed with a clear mission: to expand access to knowledge, encourage inclusion, strengthen confidence, and create meaningful opportunities for women and girls who may otherwise have limited access to such resources.
Most importantly, the Center is being built to be productive—a place where learning can lead to action, relationships can develop into collaboration, and skills can contribute to greater independence and community development. We believe that when people have a safe and supportive place to learn, meet, share experiences, and build their abilities, we are truly Building More Than Walls—we are investing in human potential and stronger communities for generations to come.
