Every journey leaves a legacy!

Colleagues, partners, and friends gathered to celebrate Njoya Tikum as he concludes his tenure as UNDP Resident Representative in Senegal and Director of the UNDP Sub-Regional Hub for West and Central Africa.

His leadership has been marked by a steadfast commitment to innovation, regional cooperation, sustainable development, and stronger partnerships across West and Central Africa. Through his vision and dedication, UNDP has expanded opportunities for young people, supported countries in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, and strengthened collaboration to address the region's most pressing challenges.

As he embarks on his new role as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Burkina Faso, we thank him for his inspiring leadership and wish him every success in this new chapter of service.

Africa's youth aren't just the future, they are the now. With nearly 60% of the continent under the age of 25, the pressure on educational systems is immense.

EdTech is a powerful solution, but the ecosystem remains fragmented and underfunded. To change this, the UNDP's timbuktoo Programme and the Dakar EdTech Hub have launched the "Strategic Mapping of the EdTech Ecosystem in Africa" report.

Last week in Senegal, UNDP colleagues from across Africa shared experiences, explored innovative approaches to storytelling, AI, strategic partnerships and results-based communications, all with one goal: communicating better to accelerate development.

Dans le cadre du projet , qui intervient en vue d'appuyer des femmes entrepreneures dans la chaîne de valeur du riz, les partenaires, notamment la Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), et les collègues des bureaux du PNUD dans les différentes zones d'interventions du projets (Guinée, Niger, Sénégal et Sierra Leone 🇸🇱), se sont réunis il y a quelques jours, afin de ternir le deuxième Comité Technique Régional.

Les résultats parlent d'eux même.
📊 Les chiffres 2025 - 2026 :

🔸 13 800 bénéficiaires directs touchés par le projet dont 88% de femmes et 42% de jeunes de moins de 35 ans
🔸 754 entrepreneures formées dont 725 femmes
🔸 475 entreprises féminines soutenues
🔸 137 TPE connectées à des opportunités de marché
🔸 94 TPE ayant reçu des équipements
