The Lion Mountain Development Organization (LMDO) is an organization initiated in January, 2012 through the motivation and cooperation of grass root activists in Finland and Sierra Leone. Our goal is to create sustainable means of improving the living standard of women, adolecents and children in Sierra Leone by facilitating developmental projects. LMDO is a non-partisan, non-religious, non-tribal
, non-political and non-sectional organization. It intends to empower young people, especially women and other vulnerable groups by giving them tools for educational, professional and social/ community participation. Sub objectives are the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger and promotion of gender equality. Women and youths in most areas in the world have been neglected either directly or indirectly. They have been prevented from participating in aspects of governance, nation building and national development. This situation has called for urgent attention and intervention. In most cases, women and youths are placed at the back in terms of decisions that directly relate to them. Their fate is often determined by people who have little or no knowledge of matters and issues affecting these women and youths. As such, providing accurate solutions to this situation is the main rationale for establishing LMDO. The composition of the organization embraces several persons from different backgrounds under one banner as a family, who strive to liberate themselves from social, economic and political disparities in order to become helpful and responsible citizens.
