*Peace Action Report: A Call for Youth Responsibility and Peaceful Conflict Resolution in Sierra Leone*

*Subject: Advocacy Message Following Reported Burning of Police Station in Kailahun District*

Following reports of a police station being allegedly set ablaze in Kailahun District by aggrieved motorcycle riders, I wish to use this moment as an opportunity for peace advocacy and youth engagement.

As a youth development advocate, Founder and CEO of YouthBuild Sierra Leone, and a World Citizen Peace Ambassador, I recognize the importance of listening to the frustrations and concerns of young people. Youth voices matter, and grievances must be addressed through meaningful dialogue, justice, and constructive engagement.

However, I strongly encourage our young people across Sierra Leone to understand that taking the law into their own hands and destroying public institutions is not the pathway to achieving lasting change. Acts of destruction only weaken the very systems that communities depend on for protection, security, and justice.

A police station is not just a building; it represents a critical structure for maintaining peace and security. When such a facility is destroyed, the entire community becomes more vulnerable. The question we must ask ourselves is: *when the police station is gone, where will citizens turn during emergencies? Who will respond when crimes occur? Who suffers the most when law and order break down?*

Our youth must be reminded that true power lies not in destruction, but in responsible citizenship, peaceful advocacy, and community leadership. The energy, passion, and frustration of young people can either build a better Sierra Leone or create deeper challenges for future generations.

I therefore call on all young people to embrace dialogue over violence, solutions over destruction, and peace over conflict. Let us become a generation that protects our communities, strengthens our institutions, and contributes positively to nation-building.

As peace ambassadors and responsible citizens, our role is to promote understanding, encourage reconciliation, and stand for peaceful solutions in every community.

*Peace is not the absence of disagreement; peace is the ability to resolve disagreements without destroying one another.*

May peace continue to prevail in Kailahun District and across Sierra Leone.

The truth about families😀
Someone got to guard the family’s prestige 🙌🏾

Families fracture when outsiders are elevated above the bloodline. Trust erodes, loyalty is questioned, and bonds that once felt unbreakable begin to weaken. When those who share history, sacrifice, and identity feel replaced or disregarded, resentment takes root. Over time, favoritism toward outsiders can turn love into rivalry, turning a family from a place of belonging into a source of pain and division.
