The Awakening Women Organization was founded by Mamusu Turay and other young women who are tireless advocates for gender equality and empowerment of women and young girls. They have dedicated their lives to championing the rights of women and girls and changing the perception that people have of women who are into odd jobs and activities that society frowns at. Our Key Initiatives:
Education Empowerment: Awakening Woman Organization not only believes that education is the key to breaking the chain of poverty but also organizes beauty contests, pay their fees for extra classes, and mentorship programs, in less privileged communities, giving them the tools to pursue their dreams and shape their own destinies.
Skills Development: We ensure that women and girls are trained with the skills needed to succeed, and we encourage them to join vocational training, which will in turn foster confidence and self-reliance for them in their communities.
Advocacy and Awareness: Our organization actively advocates for gender equality and women's rights in communities and schools. We engage in awareness campaigns, about emerging issues, send young dropouts back to school, and find ways of how women and young girls should be useful in their different communities.
Community Empowerment: We engage women and young girls through our initiatives like beauty contests, and awareness raising, we create safe spaces for women and girls to connect, share experiences, and find the support they need to overcome challenges. Our organization has transformed the lives of many women and girls, enabling them to participate, explore, and take control of their destinies. We measure these successes by the success stories that are told by the women and girls we work with. Awakening Women is not just an organization; it is a movement that wants to reshape the lives of women and girls. We are paving the way for meaningful change for women and girls in their communities.
