Women of Hope Sierra Leone

Women of Hope Sierra Leone (WOHSL) is an organization registered with the Government of Sierra Leone. WOHSL is a Christian organization that promotes the transformation of Sierra Leonean women who live with the effects of disabilities, impacting them and their families socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually and economically. We work with neglected and abused women with all types of disa

bilities to restore dignity and facilitate them reaching their fullest potential. We facilitate wholistic transformation in their lives through psycho-social programming, various economic empowerment programs, support and business skills, advocacy and community participatory enablement. We have over 800 women with disabilities registered in our 4 locations in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. Our activities and programming among this population include monthly support group meetings, a cooperative workshop and training centre for skills training and economic empowerment, emotional care and counseling, advocacy for healthcare intervention and legal and domestic needs, and various training programs, including our signature 4-month course called Transformation Training classes which is specifically designed for low literate rural women, providing training in a variety of wholistic health issues – health promotion and disease prevention, small business skills, relational health skills, emotional health, and many other topics.
