Day 1 of our Kingdom Girls Retreat was a blessing. The girls had the opportunity to learn about their identity in Christ. We did praise and worship, bible teaching and activities and they had the opportunity to hear a word from one of our facilitators. We worshipped we prayed and we fellowshipped and we are excited about what God has in store for the rest of the days. May Jesus be glorified in their lives and may they have their own special encounters with His word. We are grateful to all our sponsors and supporters who supported in various ways to make this retreat happen.

Over the school year, we continued our school outreach with girls at the Annie Walsh Memorial School in partnership with scripture union. We’ve spent time going through our curriculum using Gods word to help the girls learn about Jesus, who they are in Christ and how to live a life that pleases Jesus. It’s been a great experience for them to fellowship and grow in the word of God. A special appreciation to the leadership at AWMS for giving us this opportunity to bring Gods word to His special girls.

The story of Leila is inspired by the woman with the alabaster jar. Historical accounts note that today was the day Jesus was anointed at Bethany. We show reverence to the King of Glory who gave the greatest sacrifice for our freedom during this Holy Week leading up to easter . Enjoy some behind the scenes of this particular scene in the book Leila and Her Jar inspired by Mark 14

“While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the L***r, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.

Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, “Why this waste of perfume? It could have been sold for more than a year’s wages[a] and the money given to the poor.” And they rebuked her harshly.

“Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. The poor you will always have with you,[b] and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” Mark 14:3-9 |

Over the Christmas holiday our kingdom girls ambassador in Sierra Leone hosted a reading holiday party for the children in her Sunday school. It was a beautiful time of reading Leila and Her Jar to the children. The children were blessed with books and yummy lunch. Our ambassador also prayed with the children to lead them to Christ. We bless God for these precious little ones and what He is doing in their lives. We are thankful to our kingdom girls ambassador and her entire family for volunteering their time. We bless God for our sponsors for supporting this event.

A month ago we celebrated our 1 year anniversary of Launching! Happy 1 year anniversary to Kingdom Girls International!
