AIG HILARY SAO KANU APPRECIATES KHHI-SL’S ROLE IN YOUTH REHABILITATION IN KAMBIA

Hilary Sao Kanu, AIG North West, in a meeting during her visit to Kambia, expressed her sincere appreciation to KHHI-SL for its significant role in rehabilitating youths involved in drug and substance misuse in Kambia District and beyond.

She said she was deeply touched by the story of the relentless efforts of the founder of the rehabilitation centre and commended her courage, dedication, and sacrifice as a woman working to restore the lives and future of vulnerable youths. She prayed for God’s continued provision, strength, and guidance for her and the entire team.

AIG Hilary Sao Kanu also extended her appreciation to the Honourable Paramount Chief and Member of Parliament, PC Bai Farama Tass Bubu Ngbak IV, for spearheading the fight against drug and substance misuse through rehabilitation in Kambia District.

She further recognized the valuable contributions of the Paramount Chief of Gbinleh Chiefdom, the District Health Management Team (DHMT) headed by Dr. Sarah Kadijatu Conteh, stakeholders, and the security forces for their continued support to the rehabilitation process.

She called on the management of KHHI-SL to remain committed to the good work and continue sacrificing for the wellbeing, recovery, and future of youths in Kambia District and beyond.

In response, Madam Isatu Kamara thanked AIG Hilary Sao Kanu for recognizing the role and dedication of the entire KHHI-SL team in the rehabilitation of young people affected by drug and substance misuse.

Madam Kamara also extended her sincere appreciation to everyone who has supported her work and contributed in one way or the other to making rehabilitation a success in Kambia District. She emphasized that the achievements of the rehabilitation centre are the result of collective effort, commitment, and continued support from stakeholders and the wider community.

SPECIAL APPRECIATION TO UMC CHURCH OF KAMBIA

I bring you greetings from KHHI-SL Rehabilitation Center.

On behalf of the entire team, our clients, and their parents, I would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the UMC Church of Kambia, especially Rev. Roy and his team, for worshipping with us at the Rehabilitation Center.

It was truly an awesome and blessed moment in the presence of God. We were especially delighted to see our youths demonstrating their talents and actively participating in the worship service. Moments like these remind us of the importance of faith, hope, love, and spiritual support throughout the rehabilitation journey.

We would also like to emphasize that prayer is an important part of life at our center for people of both faiths. We strongly promote religious tolerance and have created space and facilities where both Christians and Muslims can worship and pray freely. We continue to encourage religious leaders from both faith communities to visit and pray with our youths because we believe that prayer can be a powerful source of transformation, hope, and healing.

We thank God that our youths are already becoming accustomed to prayer and are embracing it as an important part of their daily lives.

Once again, thank you, Rev. Roy and the entire UMC team, for the wonderful Sunday prayers, worship, and fellowship. Your prayers touched hearts, strengthened our youths, and contributed to a beautiful moment of spiritual awakening among them.

May God continue to bless you, your ministry, and the entire UMC Church of Kambia. We look forward to more opportunities to worship, pray, and work together for the transformation and empowerment of our young people.

SPECIAL APPRECIATION TO MR. ABUBAKARR KAMARA TAYLOR AND YOUTH INITIATIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT SL

On behalf of KHHI-SL, we wish to express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Abubakarr Kamara Taylor, APC stakeholder, for his remarkable gesture of kindness and encouragement toward eight survivor youths from the KHHI-SL Rehabilitation Center who participated in this year's International Youth Day Celebration, held at the FAWE Office on 12th August 2026.

The celebration was organized by Youth Initiative for Development SL, under the leadership of Junior Lawyer Sawyer, with the theme: “Empowering Young People for Inclusive Development, Leadership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Community Development.”

During the youth discussion, KHHI-SL survivor youths were specially recognized by Mr. Abubakarr Kamara Taylor for their courage, boldness, and determination to embrace rehabilitation and fight for positive change in their lives. He encouraged other affected young people to follow their example and make positive decisions for their future.

As a demonstration of his commitment to motivating and empowering young people, Mr. Kamara Taylor generously donated Le 1,000 each to the eight survivors, encouraging them to use the money to start something meaningful and productive. He further promised to follow up through the management of KHHI-SL to assess the impact of the support on their lives after rehabilitation.

He concluded by appreciating KHHI-SL for its sacrifice and stated that promoting development should not only be limited to earning positions, but should also be demonstrated by creating visible and meaningful impacts in the district.

The youths were extremely excited and appreciative of this generous gesture. They expressed their determination to make good use of the support and promised to make Mr. Kamara Taylor proud when he follows up on their progress.

KHHI-SL DRUG MISUSE SURVIVORS JOIN THE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATION

The gentlemen and women featured in these photos are Drug Misuse Survivors of the Kambia Hope and Healing Initiative SL (KHHI-SL) Rehabilitation Center, proudly joined by the Executive Director, Madam Isatu Kamara.

Today, they participated as delegates in the International Youth Day Celebration, organized by Youth Initiative for Development SL and partners. Their participation represents courage, resilience, recovery, and the power of young people to overcome challenges and contribute positively to society.

As part of the celebration, the KHHI-SL delegates were honored with Certificates of Participation, recognizing their valuable presence and contribution to the successful event.

KHHI-SL continues to stand for hope, healing, rehabilitation, reintegration, and a second chance for individuals affected by drug misuse.

KHHI-SL participated in the youth camp training conducted by Christ Ambassadors for Academic Excellence at the Government Technical Institute (GTI) campus. KHHI-SL presented on the topic Dangers of Drug Misuse and it was a great experience sharing session.
God bless Christ Ambassadors for giving us the opportunity to show case our talents and show to the world that second chance is possible, and that there is life after rehabilitation.
