✨ Day 1 Recap from the African Regional Youth Conference on Intellectual Property 🌍
It has been an incredibly insightful day at the conference, held under the theme: “From Ideas to Impact: The Role of Intellectual Property in Promoting Innovation and Creativity of Youth for Sustainable Development.” Organised by WIPO in collaboration with the African Union, International Trade Centre, ARIPO, JPO, OAPI, and the Government of the Republic of Côte D’Ivoire, we are diving deep into the power of Intellectual Property (IP) to shape Africa’s future.
Today, we heard from distinguished speakers who shared valuable perspectives on how IP can drive innovation, creativity, and sustainable development for African youth. The discussions highlighted the importance of protecting ideas and innovations, as well as the role of IP in fostering entrepreneurial growth across the continent.
As a representative of the Ye! Community and Sierra Leone’s Ye! Advisor to ITC, I am honoured to be part of these critical conversations. As the Founder of Open Spare Investment (OSI), I’m committed to leveraging these learnings to support the next generation of entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone and beyond.
Looking forward to the sessions ahead as we continue to explore how IP can turn African youth’s ideas into impactful solutions for a sustainable future. 💡✨
