MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF FIMCAP AFRICA
On the Occasion of FIMCAP’s Anniversary – 20th November 2025

Dear FIMCAP Member Organizations, African Youth, and Partners in Hope,

Today, as we mark the anniversary of FIMCAP - our global family of faith, action, and solidarity - I bring you warm greetings from the heart of Africa, where the spirit of youth leadership continues to rise with courage, compassion, and conviction.

This celebration is not merely a remembrance of our founding; it is a clarion call to all young people across the continent to stand united in shaping the Africa we deserve-an Africa of peace and security, liberty and solidarity, climate consciousness and sustainable development.

In a time when our communities face the scourge of violence, the trauma of war, and the senseless acts of terrorism that threaten our collective future, we, the youth of FIMCAP Africa, say: Enough. We reject every ideology and action that undermines human dignity, divides our people, and delays the promise of prosperity.

Instead, we choose to be builders of bridges, not walls. We choose dialogue over destruction, education over extremism, and solidarity over silence. We reaffirm our commitment to:

• 🕊 Promoting peace and security in our homes, schools, parishes, and nations;
• 🕯 Defending liberty and human rights, ensuring every young voice is heard and valued;
• 🌍 Advancing climate change education, knowing that ecological justice is generational justice;
• 🌱 Championing sustainable development, where no youth is left behind.

Let this anniversary ignite in us a deeper sense of purpose. Let it remind us that we are not just beneficiaries of change-we are its architects. From the Sahel to the Cape, from the coasts of West Africa to the highlands of the East, may our unity be our strength and our diversity our power.

To every FIMCAP member organization, thank you for your tireless work in nurturing young leaders of faith and action. To every young African, know this: your voice matters, your dreams are valid, and your leadership is needed-now more than ever.

Together, let us rise. Together, let us build. Together, let us be the generation that turns the tide.

Notice of Congratulations to All Crusaders

The National Executive Council of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Sierra Leone extends heartfelt congratulations to all Crusaders on the historic achievement of Most Senior Crusader McIvan Vamboi, Past National President (PNP 2018–2024), who was elected President of FIMCAP Africa at its General Assembly held in Bakuriani, Georgia, in August 2025.

This remarkable milestone is not only a personal triumph for Crusader McIvan Vamboi but a resounding honour for the entire CYO Sierra Leone family. His election to this prestigious continental office is a testament to his visionary leadership, tireless dedication, and unwavering commitment to youth development within and beyond our national borders.

As Crusaders, we celebrate this achievement with pride and gratitude. It strategically positions CYO Sierra Leone on the continental stage, opening new avenues for collaboration, representation, and influence within the broader FIMCAP network. It is a clear signal that the values, discipline, and leadership cultivated within our organisation are being recognised and embraced across Africa.
