The African Youths Unite for Change was inspired by Young Leaders (Global Changemakers) in order to create bridge builder's programs/projects for the purpose of engaging young people in Sierra Leone. The African Youths Unite for Change derived from the Global Changemakers an initiative under the British Council. The Mission of the African Youths Unite for Change is to provide experiential hands-on

learning for a diverse group of young people to become leaders in building a better future for themselves and their communities. African Youths Unite for Change build the skills necessary to develop knowledge and leadership skills for community change, work effectively in a diverse team and improve their self-confidence- all while concentrating on seven focus areas: Community Actions, Human Rights, Agriculture, Environmental/Climate Change, Health/HIV/Aids, Education and Leadership. All these Programme are built on three (3) Pillars: Learning and Teaching, Doing and Advocacy.
