*Communiqué on the Rescheduled Dates for the GYDC African Youth Summit and Official Visit to Sierra Leone

Preamble: The Global Youth Development Council (GYDC) wishes to inform all stakeholders, delegates, and partners of the updated schedule for the upcoming African Youth Summit and official engagements in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

Updated Schedule:

*Arrival in Liberia:* All delegates are expected to arrive in Monrovia, Liberia on 11th September 2025.

*African Youth Summit:* The summit will officially take place on *12th and 13th September 2025* in Monrovia, bringing together youth leaders, policymakers, and development partners to discuss key issues affecting African youth and to foster collaborative solutions.

*Transition to Sierra Leone:* On 14th September 2025, GYDC officials will depart Liberia for Freetown, Sierra Leone.

*Official Government Engagements in Sierra Leone:* Meetings with the Government of Sierra Leone are scheduled for *15th and 16th September 2025,* focusing on youth development partnerships, regional collaboration, and policy dialogue.

Conclusion: All plans should now be carried out around these new fixed dates.
GYDC remains committed to empowering African youth through dialogue, innovation, and strategic partnerships.

The African Youth Development Summit 2025:aims to empower young leaders across the continent fostering collaboration, promoting innovation, and driving sustainable development.It will offer a platform for youth to engage with policymakers,experts,and each other,facilitating capacity building, knowledge sharing, and the development of solutions to pressing challenges. The summit will also highlight the potential of African youth in shaping the continent's future and contributing to the global AGENDA on issues like sustainable development, climate action, and economic empowerment. *GYDC Sierra Leone and Liberia Presidents met with SL Ambassador to Liberia*

I write to inform you all that the leadership of the global youth development Council from Liberia and Sierra Leone through the instructions from the leadership in Malaysia and Africa continent net with the Sierra Leone Ambassador to Liberia today 15th July 2025.

The team was headed by the two countries' presidents
1. President Gertrude C Carter ( Liberia GYDC)
2. President Jeremiah P.M Tiffa ( Sierra Leone president)

The purpose of the visit was to present two letters to the ambassador on behalf of the organisation.

The first letter is a letter of intent to visit the government of Sierra Leone through the embassy

The second letter is an official invitation for the embassy and all Sierra Leoneans in Liberia to attend the Submit on August 7th - 9th in Liberia.

During this all-important meeting, other issues relating to the progress, development, and establishment of the organization in Sierra Leone were also discussed.

However, in his response, the ambassador first of all expresse his grati for such a visit as he said this visit is important and very timely. He promised to facilitate all necessary procedures in ensuring the intent visitation of the global leadership of GYDC to Sierra Leone becomes a reality. He also pleads to work with the team moving forward.

In another development, the GYDC Africa Summit will take place in Liberia in August 2025 as scheduled. Therefore, the cooperation and participation of council members is highly solicited.

More updates on the summit and other related info will be given as an when necessary.
