LIFELINE NEHEMIAH PROJECTS OBSERVES PREECLAMPSIA WEEK WITH AWARENESS DRIVE

Lifeline Nehemiah Projects on Tuesday 19th May 2026, launched its activities offering free blood pressure and urine protein screenings, one-on-one counseling, and Krio-language health talks for expectant mothers to commemorate World Preeclampsia Week.

These were followed by staff, community health officers who also distributed leaflets detailing warning signs of preeclampsia at Portee market in the eastern part of Freetown.

"Too many women in Sierra Leone still die from preventable complications. Preeclampsia Week is about breaking the silence. A headache, blurred vision, or sudden swelling is not normal pregnancy, it can be a red flag," said Mr. Turay, Project Manager for 'PAPAYA project' at Lifeline Nehemiah Projects.

Lifeline Nehemiah Betteh Tumara Institute held its graduation ceremony today Saturday 9th May 2026, recognizing graduates who completed training programs aimed at building skills and creating new opportunities.

The event brought together trainees, families, instructors, and community leaders to celebrate the completion of months of work and the start of the next chapter.

The Executive Director Rev Prince Tommy Williams said they began this
journey with only 50 students. Out of that number he said, about 30 students graduated. "The process was
challenging, but we refused to give up.
From that humble beginning, Lifeline

Freetown, 27th March 2026- The Lifeline Nehemiah Project has raised alarm over what it describes as intimidation and interference by security personnel in connection with an ongoing land dispute involving the Ministry of Social Welfare.

Philemon Kamara, Director of Operations at the organization, told journalists that the dispute centers on a parcel of land previously used by the project as a recreational facility. He alleged that the Ministry is now attempting to take over the property, despite the matter being before the courts.

Despite these efforts, we continue to face challenges,” Kamara lamented, calling on government, media, and stakeholders for swift intervention. “We are Sierra Leoneans. What we are doing is not a crime. We want to operate without fear or intimidation and continue serving the people of this country.”
