On this World Environment Day, CEFCON Sierra Leone, is proud to join the global call to action against plastic pollution.
*The theme, "Beat Plastic Pollution,"* is a powerful reminder of the urgent need to address a crisis that impacts every corner of our planet and every life on it. We must act with urgency and determination to create a cleaner and healthier future for generations to come.
*Plastic pollution* is a pervasive problem, infiltrating our ecosystems, harming wildlife, and even entering our food chains.
*" To Beat Plastic Pollution,* it's a mandate to reduce plastic waste, encourage sustainable practices, and demand systemic change.
CEFCON Sierra Leone is committed to supporting individuals, communities, and governments in their efforts to combat plastic pollution. This includes raising awareness and advocating for full implementation of environmental policies
We believe that a united effort, involving individuals, organizations and governments, is essential to overcome this challenge.
By working together, we can create a world where plastic pollution is a thing of the past and where our planet thrives.

CEFCON-SL: Safer Earth Saves Lives

Climate Change, Environment, and Forest Conservation Consortium - Sierra Leone (CEFCON-SL) was established through nationwide consultations with like-minded civil society members to address concerns on rampant deforestation and environmental degradation that negatively impact national and international development.

CEFCON-SL works closely with development partners, civil society organizations (CSOs), and government ministries, departments and agencies to protect the environment and to promote those Sustainable Development Goals which mainly focus on environmental protection for a safer earth (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 6, 11, 13, 14 and 15). The Consortium promotes and strengthens national initiatives relating to climate change adaptation and mitigation, protection of the environment and conservation of the forest in a participatory manner involving relevant CSO partners, particularly women, youth and other disadvantaged groups to reduce their vulnerability to climate change and promoting sustainable development in Sierra Leone.

The Consortium’s member organizations include the Civil Society Advocacy Network on Climate Change, the Sierra Leone Alliance against Hunger and Malnutrition, Road for Development Sierra Leone, Coalition of Civil Society and Human Rights Activists Sierra Leone, Child Welfare Society, Women are Partners Sierra Leone Health for All Coalition-SL, SK Environmental Services and Nursery Plant, and Women for International Peace and Arbitration. The Consortium builds its capacity from the organization’s experience in advocacy, monitoring, and community engagements.
