Foundation For Joy Children Organisation is a christian charitable non- profitable organisation dedicated to the aiding of street children, orphans, abandoned and neglected children and survivor of Domestic Violence. It was founded in January 10, 2009 out of the desire to respond to the needs of unaccompanied, abandoned and orphaned children found in many part of country due to family neglected an
d the then ragging civil war. As an organisation Foundation for Joy seeks to address the Psychological, emotional, social, spiritual, and moral needs of these children through the provision of a range of services. The organisation started operation in 2011, with a small orphanage for orphans and abandoned street children and a pre- school for less privilege children in the shebora town in the West end area Rural district. Through the support of the Executive Director and some founding members. Meanwhile, the Organisation continued to spread to other parts of the country with the opening of a residential care project in Rokon in the Port loko District and in Mallal chiefdom in the Tonkonlili District. As away to stoped domestic violence and the misused of orphans,abandoned and neglected street children in sierra Leone.God has enabled our organisation to serve him faithfully in different parts of the country. Foundation For Joy Children Organisation was founded in January 10, 2009 with the direction of the holy spirit to take part more effectively in fulfilling the Christ given mandate(Matt28 :19 ) and to reach the people of this world with his love and compassion. Established in 2009, Foundation For Joy Children Organisation has wiped out tears of many and touched lives many, with the help of the Lord's grace and by generous and like vision people around the globe.It's our pleasure to partner with any churches around the world, organisations, Individuals, Institutions, and missionaries with a passion to teach, preach and help the poor in Sierra Leone. In Shebora town, a new project for teenage mothers who were made pregnant and abandoned by combatants and parents was opened in shebora town and was funded by the Executive Director and some good will staff. This project focussed on the marginalised girls who were not covered by the national DDR programmeon the grounds that they have no arms or ammunition to present for that programme. Having been abandoned twice by combatant 'husband' ' and by their parents for bearing a rebel child these girls had to make life through commercial s*x, drugs, trafficking and other unlawful and undignified means of getting income. These girls were reintegrated back to community and given the access to either go back to school or enrolled in a vocational training through the support of Foundation For Joy Children Organisatiion . This project is a sponsorship project that provides educational,clothing, feeding, medical and other special needs of vulnerable children at different part of the country. In essence, from just one single orphanage and a school without on funding partner Foundation For Joy Children Organisation has find it difficult to establish partnership in sierra Leone and even around the world as a whole.
