Martin Lawrence Foundation

Martin Lawrence Foundation We seek out the underprivileged youths and street children (aged 8-25), empower them through education, health, and trained productive skills.

Sierra Leone is a developing country situated on the west coast of Africa. A small country of about 6 million populace inhabited by 16 ethnic groups in all her 12 districts. For the past yrs, Sierra Leone has been able to enjoy peace and tranquility after 10yrs of brutal civil war that destroyed many of her beauty, natural resources and talents. Many were displaced, killed, amputated and many were

left as orphans, leaving the country with about 60% illiteracy rate most of whom are youths and young adults. Presently the country is striving very hard to bring back the old days and meet modern trend of development. For this dream to be a reality, the youths must be busy, street children must be given homes, the orphans need an arm to lean on. This is the goal of Martin Lawrence Foundation; to give an arm to the orphans, a home and quality education for the underprivileged and street children, the traumatized youths to learn basic skills in computer, arts and crafts, drama and film making. It is the brain of two friends Martin N. Moiba and Lawrence T. Marka who met in Nigeria in 2007 and thought of how they can help their brothers and sister of their beloved country to be self reliant after their two years of missionary work. It was founded on June 2010, but officially launched in November 2013. For the past years our pre-launching activities have involved awarding scholarships to few underprivileged pupils and donating learning materials to merited underprivileged pupils in a dilapidated school in our community.
