Makona River Organization

Makona River Organization The three countries (Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone) are similar in many ways.

The Makona River Organization was founded in 2005 in Koindu, Republic of Sierra Leone by citizens and same ethnic speaking groups living on the borders of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone in the Makona River Basin. The desire by these people to form a cross-border peace Building and socio-economic development organization was a result of the civil war which started 1989 in Liberia and quickly spre

ad across the borders into Sierra Leone and Guinean with equal negative effects. these include: same traditional practices, same vegetative and mineral resources, same economic and social problems, similar political problems etc, and now sharing of the same negative effects of the 15 years civil war which started in Liberia.
