Join us this Thursday at 1:00 PM. We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Adetola Hammed Hassan a Consultant Neonatologist and Paediatrician working with the Ministry of Health and UNICEF, Dr. Hassan does amazing work for children at the Ola During Children’s Hospital and the Lumley Paediatric Center of Excellence. He is deeply dedicated to improving health outcomes for newborns and children right here in Sierra Leone.

July is Maternal and Child Health Month, and we are dedicated to ensuring mothers and children in our community have the care, support, and brighter future they deserve through projects like our "Helping babies breathe". Happy New Rotary Year and Happy July from Rotary Club of Freetown.
We kick off this new month with a vital focus on Maternal and Child Health. To build a brighter future, Rotary is transforming maternity care across Sierra Leone. Through our own life-saving projects like "Helping Babies Breathe" (HBB), we trained and equipped more than 650 nurses, midwives, and traditional birth attendants.
Our mission tackles birth asphyxia a condition responsible for 30% of infant deaths during their first 24 hours of life. To support this fight, we have provided over 160 NeoNatalie Simulators, five oxygen concentrators, and a brand-new solar power system for the King Harman Maternity Hospital.
Together, we are protecting mothers and saving newborns.

This Friday, we officially handed over the Rokel School Library. We are incredibly proud to deliver this newly transformed learning space to the students and staff at the Government Rokel School Grounds. A massive thank you to all the Rotarians, our partners Rokel Commercial Bank and Media Tech, and the School administration who dedicated their time, resources, and energy to make this sustainable literacy project a reality.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who turned up and supported this milestone. Seeing the transformation of this space reminds us of the true power of Service Above Self. This library will serve as a sanctuary of knowledge for generations of students to come.
