HIGH POINT OF LEARNING AND EXPERIENCE SHARING VISIT TO ETHIOPIA ON CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT.

Our team, led by H.E. Ambassador Tamba Lamina, had an inspiring meeting with H.E. Mr. Seyoum Mekonen, Ethiopia's State Minister of Planning and Development.
The discussion was all about a greener, more resilient future! Ethiopia shared its incredible journey in championing green growth, climate action, and the circular economy; turning challenges like waste into valuable resources.
A key highlight was visiting the amazing Reppi Waste-to-Energy Plant, a real-world example of how to power communities while cleaning the environment. Our delegation was deeply inspired by this bold leadership.
This is more than just a meeting; it's a partnership in the making. Both nations are committed to working together, sharing knowledge, and building a sustainable future for the people of both countries and the African continent.

The visit is supported by Welthungerhilfe Sierra Leone under the Systems Strengthening for Sustainable Waste Management in Sierra Leone Project funded by Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ).

The project is implemented in the municipal cities of Kenema, Koidu, Makeni, Bo, Port Loko and the Western Area Rural district of Freetown.
