Our Story
Child Welfare Society-Sierra Leone was born out of a desire to create safer communities for vulnerable children and women in Sierra Leone. We implement programs in Food Nutrition and Livelihoods, Education and Talent Building, Psycho-social and Child Protection, Protection and Rights, Disability and Children in Crisis, Women and Early Childhood Development, and Youth Development. Presently, we work in 14 out of 16 districts in Sierra Leone. We operate our programs through 13 district offices across the country, and a Secretariat in Freetown. We maintain one community representative in each of the one hundred and forty-nine (149) Chiefdoms in the country, with mandate to report on the issues affecting children and women in their localities.
