Today, we join the global community in celebrating World Environment Day and reaffirming our commitment to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.

Through the production of our eco-friendly biomass briquettes from agricultural and municipal waste, we are helping to reduce deforestation, promote clean cooking, and create a healthier environment for communities across Sierra Leone.

We Sierra Ecoheat recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Freetown City Council (FCC) and GOAL Sierra Leone to produce over 13,000kg biomass briquettes at the FCC Kingtom treatment site to be supplied to Congo Town and Kolleh Town communities. This initiative aims to combat deforestation and advance access to clean cooking solutions.

The project converts dry municipal waste including coconut husks and sawdust combined with treated f***l sludge, into affordable, durable, and environmentally sustainable biomass briquettes, offering a practical solution to both waste management and household energy needs.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mannheim City for their generous support of this initiative, and to Her Worship Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr Mayor of Freetown,Freetown City Council, GOAL Sierra Leone, and CODOHSAPA for their invaluable partnership. We look forward to deepening collaborations with organizations that share our commitment to clean cooking and meaningful climate action.

Last week Thursday, we are thrilled to warmly welcome Prof. Kimberly Leary and Dr. Griffin Jones from the Good Services Lab at the Bloomberg Center for Cities, Harvard University at our site in Hasting.

At Sierra Ecoheat we continue to work effortlessly to make such ww provide affordable and eco-friendly cooking solution to people in Freetown, that which is our core value. Over the years we have done community engagement with various communities across the city.

Yesterday, at the Youth dinner organized by Freetown City Council and C40 Cities which we were part of as we are part of the First Round Winner of the Bloomberg Youth Climate Fund last year. During the dinner our acting Chief Operating Officer (COO) Amadu Serry represented us by presenting a breakdown on how the fund was received and used.

Climate change is really and we need to address it, Sierra Ecoheat we will continue to address the problem of deforestation caused by traditional fuel users (Firewood and Charcoal) and provide a sustainable alternative, which is our affordable, and eco-friendly briquettes.

Watch out 👀 this April, big thing coming up for Ecoheat, thanks to our dedicated team members for their relentless work Sulaiman Barrie Saidu Barrie, Amadu Serry and Omar Keita.
