We are proud to celebrate our founder, Janice Williams, on the publication of her short story, “Tellam Tenki,” in Poda Poda.

For those who know Janice through Sudu Salone, this moment will feel familiar.
Her work has always made room for people whose lives are often reduced to headlines, statistics, or silence.

Through Sudu, she has worked to create safer futures for children and families in Sierra Leone. Through writing, she brings that same attention to the inner lives people carry, memory, family, grief, obligation, humor, and survival.

“Tellam Tenki” offers readers another way to encounter Janice’s voice.

It is thoughtful, grounded, and deeply connected to the kinds of stories that deserve to be held with care.

From Reception to Primary 1 and already making us beam with pride! 🎓

Congratulations to our very own Demba! Yesterday he graduated with excellent scores, finishing among the very best pupils in his entire batch.

Since joining the Sudu family in 2025, we have poured into Demba's education, his growth, and his confidence every single step of the way. And moments like this make every bit of it worth it.

A Visit from Friends Who Have Walked This Journey With Us

The Alghalis, long-time friends and supporters of Sudu, paid a heartfelt visit to our office this week and met with staff. What started as a check-in turned into a beautiful conversation about how far Sudu has come.

They shared how proud they are of the progress made across various communities, comparing where Sudu started to where we are today, and acknowledged the challenges our field staff face and how the team continues to rise above them. Their words of appreciation and encouragement reminded our staff exactly why this work matters.

Our Team Lead thanked them for their continued support and presented them with a copy of Sudu's latest newsletter, giving them a closer look into our recent progress across communities.
