_YAGGs Project Progress Review meeting by ActionAid & CCYA_


A follow-up meeting between ActionAid and CCYA is presently underway to evaluate the status of the YAGGS project and to go over the consultant's findings regarding the mapping-out procedure.

"From Policy to Practice: Ensuring No Young Person is Left Behind
Centre for Coordination of Youth Activities-CCYA and Young people with support from Taksvarkki engages Duty Bearers and MDA's in a National Lobbying meeting on the implementation of the National Youth Policy(2020-2025). The meeting provided the platform for young people to discuss on the progress/ successes and challenges in its implementation and proffer recommendations for consideration in the review of the new Policy. We need the Establishment of the YOUTH EMPOWERMENT FUND which was not achievable to support Youth Programs and implementation of the Youth Policy. There were testimonies from our boundary partners.

But through the Taksvarkki project, CCYA has built my capacity and confidence through their transformational leadership, social change and advocacy trainings which has transformed my life and now I am a proud Youth Leader and the youngest Chief( local authority in my community). As a Nobody I am a respectable and recognized Youth custodian in my community " I am greatful to CCYA and its partner.
Santigue Bangura a beneficiary from Port Loko testifies" through this project CCYA has supported my community based organization CEDO with small grants that has led to active and increased visibility of our work in PortLoko and through our awareness raising and advocacy many youth has been transformed from been a drug addicts to responsible Youths. The lobbying meeting ended up with commitments by our line Ministry and other stakeholders and partners present on the implementation of the Youth Policy.
