Early this morning, we visited the MABALA PRIMARY SCHOOL off guard street community, Freetown. Our mission and vision is clear.

We spread awareness on harmful drugs
We advise our children and young people to stay away from harmful substances.

We personally encourage them to learn about the Truth about Drugs in order to take responsibility over their lives. We want them to be a role model in their various societies. We shared out over three hundred copies of the Truth About Drugs. My team is working on a very important aspect which needs our collective efforts. Thanks to our affiliate partners Drug free world international for providing us materials to teach or educate our young people about the importance of harmful drugs.

Today, our organization which is Youth Against Drugs Sierra Leone YAD. We embarked upon our journey to teach young people and children about the harmful effects of drugs abuse. My our visited the Trinity primary school off eastern police. This time, we engaged the girls child on the importance of drugs abuse and its consequences on their lives.

However, we used the basic language which is (Krio). We explained to them about the TRUTH ABOUT DRUGS. When we say drugs, we mean, harmful drugs which has been destroying the lives of our young people especially the youth of this generation and the next generation as well.

The rampant abuse of drugs has been an alarming issue which needs collective responsibility to educaFoundation for a Drug-Free World Internationaldoing so, weโ€™ve safeguarded the lives of the future generations. Through the support of our affiliate partners which are Foundation for a Drug-Free World International who provided us with the materials free of charge to bring this education to our people in Sierra Leone. We want to send a big thank you to the rest of the team over there and our local volunteers on the ground who are making sure that our young people Say No To Harmful Substances like KUSH. We shared out fiAmb Mohamed Barrieopies of the TRUTH ABOUT DRUGS books to these pupils.

Early today, our team went out to the TRINITY PRIMARY SCHOOL at fourah-bay road around the Eastern police community to continue our work for humanity but this time around itโ€™s different from our previous efforts. It is our responsibility to look over other people and making sure they understand their rights and responsibilities.

Today, the message was different from our previous message. It DRUGS EDUCATION. This message was championed by Youth Against Drugs Sierra Leone YAD an organization established in 2024 to raise awareness on the importance of drug addiction which has becomes an alarming issue which needs to be treated with urgency. Our work is different here. We spoke with these kids and explained to them about the harmfulness of drugs.

During our conversation, one of the young pupils showed up and give brief understanding about what he understands about drugs. His name is Abu- Bakarr kamara-whose says that โ€œ those who took drugs will be having signs of swollen lungs especially legs and died on the street.โ€ He also emphasized that the community will bashed at them and not encouraging them anymore.

This is a sign that our kids are now learning from the ugly experience they saw on the streets in regular basis in their community from either love ones or relatives.

Our mission is to catch them when theyโ€™re young in order not to lose them back in the future. The message about the TRUTH ABOUT DRUGS is what we bring to them and it contains all the various types of drugs and their harmful implications to society.

Today, our institutions will commence its second tour on Drugs advocacy in schools across Freetown. Youth Against Drugs Sierra Leone, will visit the TRINITY PRIMARY SCHOOL at fourah-bay road back of eastern police roundabout.

This organization is founded in November 2024 to raise awareness on drugs education specifically targeting children and young people in school. Itโ€™s has an affiliation with Foundation for a Drug-Free World International.

Watch out today as we embark on this important journey to shape the lives of our young people because we want to catch them when theyโ€™re young before they get to the stage of adulthood.
