About Us: The Trade Union Confederation of Sierra Leone (TUC-SL), is a national umbrella labour center that provides alternative choice for the workers and their trade unions including informal sector associations in Sierra Leone; originally formed in 1998, to provide democratic space and voice for workers and informal sector operatives; as a non-state actor for engagement with the state actors an

d their development partners including the international community for the good of the people of Sierra Leone generally. The TUC-SL with other civil society organizations and NGOs advocate and lobby for better beneficiation from the vast and varied natural resources of the nation, effective delivery of goods, works and social services to the people wherever they maybe in terms of education, health, infrastructure etc; and lead the fight for social justice, human rights and dignity. The TUC-SL came about as a felt need from the workers to engage the issues of workers and other livelihood concerns, including human rights for all Sierra Leoneans. There has always been the avid need to establish a democratic and effective alternative workers’ organization to organize, conscientize and mobilize the people to take part in the processes of their own destiny: that is what the Trade Union Confederation of Sierra Leone (TUC-SL) aspires to fulfill.
