What a way to close out the year! We took to the field for a fantastic match with , uniting for the common goal of peace. Even though the final score of the match was not peaceful as it ended 12-3 in YPPD’s favour 😁

In Sierra Leone, football is more than a game—it's the most loving sport, a powerful catalyst for unity. As peacebuilders, we leverage this passion to bridge divides and promote shared values. Let's keep the peace momentum going into the New Year!

As the world commemorates the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Youth Partnership for Peace and Development (YPPD) proudly joined forces with key partners to participate in a solidarity walk with survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

This year’s global theme underscores the call to: UNITE! Invest to Prevent Violence Against Women and Girls, with a specific emphasis on addressing the alarming rise of digital violence.

We marched in collaboration with:
Rainbo Initiative
Trocaire
Irish Aid
SEND - SIERRA LEONE
Ministry of Gender and Children's Affairs-SL and many others.

Together, we amplified the urgent call for collective action to create safe spaces both online and offline where the rights, dignity, and well-being of all women and girls are protected. Through unity and continued advocacy, we remain committed to ending all forms of digital and physical violence against women and girls.

At the Youth Partnership for Peace and Development (YPPD), we stand with young people, communities, and all individuals affected by HIV. We believe in dignity for every person and a future where access to accurate information and youth-friendly services is guaranteed.

On World AIDS Day, through our media engagements, we called on everyone especially young people to choose protection, choose responsibility, and choose compassion. Emphasis was also centred on the need for government to allocate domestic resources to advance HIV prevention programmes amidst global funding cuts.

HIV is real. AIDS is deadly. But with prevention, treatment, and sustained advocacy, we can reduce new infections and save lives.

Together, we can .

As an organization that deeply values collaboration, the Youth Partnership for Peace and Development (YPPD) joined forces with Girls Alliance Incorporation (G*I) to host the Second National Forum on Adolescent Health and Well-being in Port Loko, in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child.

The forum brought together policymakers, youth advocates, and SRHR service providers to foster meaningful dialogue on translating the Agenda for Action for Adolescents (AAA) commitments into tangible actions.

This engagement continues to inform and strengthen national efforts to advance adolescent health and well-being, ensuring that every adolescent can live healthy, empowered, and fulfilled lives.

With support from PMNCH, under the Advocating for Change for Adolescents’ Health and Well-being project, YPPD conducted a SMART Advocacy Training for Adolescent and Youth Constituency Groups.

The training was facilitated by a seasoned advocate from Health Alert, who guided participants through the key stages of SMART advocacy and shared valuable real-life experiences.

Participants were divided into two groups, each tasked with crafting practical SMART Advocacy Plans to popularize and advance the AAA commitments among relevant stakeholders.

Through teamwork, creativity, and evidence-based approaches, the groups identified actionable strategies to strengthen youth-led advocacy and hold duty bearers accountable for advancing the Agenda for Action for Adolescents' Health.

This exercise not only enhanced participants’ advocacy skills but also fostered collaboration and ownership in driving the AAA commitments forward. Together, we’re building a stronger movement for adolescent health and well-being! 💪✨

On the 26th September 2025, YPPD, as the leading convener of the Y-ACT SRHR Coalition, joined the World Contraception Day commemoration in Freetown, making a significant mark in advancing adolescent and youth SRHR. The event brought together over 100 young people, policymakers, the Deputy Minister of Health, and other development partners.

As part of the coalition exhibition, YPPD showcased the project’s learning brief, policy brief, and the CAHLS curriculum through an engaging booth, while other members also highlighted their work. The Planned Parenthood Association of Sierra Leone distributed contraceptive materials, and Girls Advocacy Development Network showcased their menstrual hygiene kit and ongoing initiatives.

Together, these efforts reaffirmed the coalition’s commitment to ensuring access, information, and accountability in advancing contraceptive use and youth well-being in Sierra Leone.
