Lots going on in the provinces recently. In Taiama, established by Mash P, they have been making beats with Wise, (all music is on our soundcloud.com/wayout-1 learning filming with manager MSK and filming music videos in a nearby village. Approximately 40 villages surround Taiama. Places with no clean water, power, schools or clinics. The youth have nothing to do but BKB walks in to WAYout 5 days a week and made his first video last week. Susan visited village Bondurbu, home of The Women's Media Group, where they have made several short film dramas about issues that concern them -early marriage, fistula, etc which are screened in surrounding villages. We have installed a well (funded by ) and contributed to agriculture, enabling the women to send their children to school and have time for filmmaking.

Today the focus is on film and drama from this year so far. A big thank you to all staff who make these things happen. The video for Mash P's Ghetto Hero continues to get in to International film festivals and won gold in a UK festival. 'The Sun Still Rises' the feature length documentary following 2 kush addicts, which MSK and Bullet are making is almost finished with original music by Skye. Camera and editing classes continue in the Freetown Centre, with the women's group in Ferry Junction, up in Taiama and with the Unity group in Fisher Street/Susan's Bay. Michael Richardson, who has written books and works in youth theatre, has been running online drama classes and will return to Sierra Leone in May. Morcheeba Michael Richardson

A lot to catch up on. We have been busy this year and we'll start with music. Studio 1 has been busy with producers Wise, Kaikai and Jimmy. In Taiama there has also been some great tracks produced. All tracks are on our Soundcloud. There was a big show, starring Morcheeba in London- a great fundraiser for WAYout at which Mash P performed with Slick'n'Bobby. Brilliant performances all round. Supported by JSF. Once a month Bullet holds an open mic session in Fisher Street as part of the Unity group. And Anthony Pears has an album of WAYout artists coming out in April.

Last night saw an amazing show, a fundraiser for WAYout with Morcheeba headlining and Mash P also playing with SlicknBobby. Skye of Morcheeba came out to Sierra Leone in December 2025 to perform and visit the work of WAYout arts and she is now a patron. Thank you to Tag for all his hard work organising this, helped by Jamie of Strummerville. It was a great night Morcheeba Red Earth Collective
